“Shut up. Go back to your room. If you have something to say, wait until I’m done.” When Mu Yelei saw the gleam in the eyes of the two men beside him, he could not help but frown. One was an emperor and the other a prince—neither of them was the sort to let trouble pass them by, and they loved nothing more than watching such things for entertainment. More importantly, why had Xia Ziying suddenly walked out of Yinlü Pavilion? What exactly was she trying to do now? No matter what, this was his family affair, and he had no desire to disgrace himself before outsiders.
That lofty attitude, those words as cold as ice blades—he thought that would be enough to send Hua Ling away. If it had been the former Xia Ziying, perhaps it might have worked, but the one here now was Hua Ling. She didn’t buy that at all.
Hua Ling threw back her head and laughed, then looked at Mu Yelei and said, “Oh my, what a big tone you have. You tell me to go back, and I’m supposed to obediently go back? Who the hell do you think you are?!”
Mu Yelei was stunned. He had never known Xia Ziying could curse at people, and curse in such a strange way at that. Since he knew he had been insulted, there was no way Mu Yelei’s expression would look pleasant. “What did you say? Say it again, and see whether I’ll lock you in the woodshed.”
“I wasn’t raised on fear, thank you very much. You want to lock me up, so you just can? On what grounds? Just because you’re the prime minister, you can abuse your power?” Hua Ling turned her head toward the two men watching the show and said, “You two, come judge for us. Tell me, between me and him, who’s right and who’s wrong?”
“Exactly. Yelei, you’re being far too overbearing. You should at least hear why she came, shouldn’t you? How can you chase people away at the drop of a hat?” Jin Junxi said with a smile, looking very much like he was adding fuel to the fire.

Tell us, and I’ll uphold justice for you.” The current emperor, Jin Junchi, lifted his pair of peach-blossom eyes slightly, speaking with a smile. Interesting. He had never seen a woman who could look at Mu Yelei’s iceberg face and not be afraid.
