Chapter 4

004 Lacking Calcium Since Childhood, Lacking Love After Growing Up

3 min read693 words

“Sleep. It won’t collapse.” Suddenly, a low voice sounded by her ear. Su Zhirui awkwardly withdrew her hands, then pressed herself desperately against the wooden wall instead. It seemed to have started raining. She curled into a ball, sleeping in a daze, feeling colder and colder. Out of habit, Su Zhirui groped around blindly; the moment she touched a source of warmth, she immediately plastered herself to it, burying her head in someone’s chest. Only then did she fall asleep in satisfaction. Frowning, a certain man was somewhat displeased. No woman had ever stuck her entire perfectly able-bodied self onto him like this, clinging like a damned plaster that couldn’t be shaken off. Lowering his head, he immediately kissed her little mouth, not loosening his hold until a certain woman was heated into a dizzy muddle. She didn’t seem to wake, merely murmuring something in her sleep before wrapping herself around him again. Helpless, Yi Feng kissed her once more. This time, he did not stop so easily. Only when Su Zhirui’s whole body had turned soft and burning hot did he release her fragrant form. Yet the moment he let go, a certain someone recklessly burrowed back into his arms again. A faint anger flickered in his eyes. Gathering her body up, this time he had no idea what courtesy was and simply devoured her whole. When it was over, she clung to him again, seemingly nothing like what he had imagined. Thoughtfully, Yi Feng pulled open the bed canopy. Sure enough, just as expected, because of the mosquitoes’ harassment, Su Zhirui immediately released her hands and wrapped her entire body inside the quilt. If he had known it would be this simple, he would not have had to do such exhausting physical labor.

In the faint morning light, Su Zhirui suddenly sprang up from the bed. Before her mind could even make the turn, her body had already twisted around. Looking at the severe wounds of unknown origin on a certain man’s back, still streaked with blood, she suddenly let out a cry of alarm. Had he fought a war with cats and dogs last night? So many scratch marks. No—her innocence. “Last night…” “You were clinging and wouldn’t let go.” Yi Feng sat up and swiftly put on his inner robe. “Bullshit.” Su Zhirui roared in fury. This man had clearly taken advantage and was still pretending to be wronged. “You were the one who wanted to marry me,” Yi Feng said, unmoving, stating the facts. “But we’ve only known each other for one day.” Su Zhirui held up one finger, feeling somewhat dizzy. “You were clinging and wouldn’t let go.” “But why did you have to touch me?” “You were clinging and wouldn’t let go.” “Couldn’t you have kicked me off the bed?” “Fine, I was clinging and wouldn’t let go.” Su Zhirui took over the line herself, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. She had lost her innocence in such a muddled, inexplicable way. Yet strangely, she did not feel all that furious. Was it because she had lacked calcium as a child and lacked love growing up? “Wipe up your drool.” Seeing her stare wide-eyed as he undressed, Yi Feng reminded her blandly. “Aren’t you going to ask about my background?” After a pause, she suddenly asked. It seemed she had not even given her name, yet this man had married her. “Not important.” A typically indifferent answer in Yi Feng’s style. “My family?” Su Zhirui raised a brow and asked again. “Don’t care.” Still putting all his attention on changing clothes, Yi Feng replied. “My character, my morals?” This time, he lifted his head, glanced at her, then lowered it again. “No need to know.” “Then why did you marry me?” Somewhat angry now, Su Zhirui shouted. “Because you wanted me to marry you.” “I want you to go eat shit.” “…” Seeing Yi Feng fall silent, Su Zhirui instantly felt much more balanced, because at last, there was finally something he could not answer.
