Chapter 13

013 Whose Head Will Grow Grass

3 min read689 words

From within the room came nothing but Su Zhirui’s unceremonious roars, yet even the fiercest storm must finally break; in the end, it all concluded with a certain woman begging for mercy again and again.

“Fourth Brother, Fourth Sister-in-law, it’s time to get up and eat.” Outside the door came Yi Lun’s knocking. Su Zhirui slowly opened her eyes, then jabbed her elbow into a certain man’s chest. But that wall of bronze and iron gave her not the slightest reaction. Was he dead asleep? To confirm whether she could remarry, Su Zhirui propped herself up and shoved Yi Feng. Yet the man merely opened his eyes and looked at her with exceptional solemnity, his expression like a child who had failed to get candy—anxious and annoyed. Su Zhirui burst into unrestrained laughter, and took the opportunity to dress and get up.

“Fourth Sister-in-law, er, why are you wearing Fourth Brother’s clothes?” Seeing her walk out of the room, Yi Lun hurriedly pulled out a chair for her to sit down, stifling his laughter so hard he feared internal injury. Her tiny frame was wrapped in such an enormous outer robe; from afar, she looked as if she were dragging a bedsheet. It would have been difficult not to notice.

“You want me to come out in scraps of cloth and make a spectacle of myself?” Su Zhirui’s delicate brows furrowed slightly, her face full of displeasure. “That man really has no ordinary number of problems.”

“Fourth Sister-in-law, Fourth Brother didn’t get up?” Yi Lun nodded with a light laugh, but did not dare get out of line. If his sister-in-law truly learned all of that man’s problems, he feared she would be so frightened she would turn and run.

“He looked at me once, then fell back down and went to sleep.” Su Zhirui waved a hand, unconcerned, but she did not miss how peculiar Yi Lun’s expression was. “What? Is there some problem?”

“No, no problem.” The corner of Yi Lun’s mouth twitched a little, and he hurriedly put away his bitter expression, returning to normal. “Er, Fourth Sister-in-law, I think I should remind you: when Fourth Brother usually intends to rest, he sleeps for rather a long time.”

“How so?” Su Zhirui asked, tilting her head, though her chopsticks and bowl did not stop moving.

“When he isn’t handling proper business, he really likes to sleep.” Yi Lun did not know how to say it, and could only put it tactfully.

“What’s wrong with that?” Su Zhirui asked, unconcerned. If one was tired, one ought to sleep. Was that wrong?

“Er, ordinary people would feel dizzy and muddleheaded after resting for a day or two, but Fourth Brother…”

“What about him?”

“He’ll probably sleep for ten days to half a month. And judging from how he looked when he returned this afternoon, it seems, as if, perhaps…” Yi Lun replied somewhat haltingly.

“He really knows how to save grain.” Su Zhirui was stunned after hearing this, but only for a moment before she reacted. Her man could not be regarded with the eyes one used for normal people to begin with.

“Fourth Sister-in-law, you don’t find it strange?” Seeing that she had no reaction, Yi Lun asked somewhat worriedly.

“He loves sleeping?”

“Didn’t I already tell you…”

“Then isn’t that settled?” Su Zhirui glanced at him and said no more, simply eating her meal quietly. This was called strange? Then wouldn’t a vegetable be a marvel? Yi Lun did not speak again, but in his heart he arrived at an answer: this couple could not be treated with normal thinking. He had originally wondered what kind of woman could subdue Fourth Brother. Now it seemed these two were, er, truly a perfect match.

Su Zhirui returned to the room bored out of her mind. Her gaze swept toward the bed, and then she shook her head indifferently. Since her man loved sleeping so much, she had to find something to do, lest grass grow on her own head. And since grass could not grow on her head, then it could only grow on her man’s head.
