Midas with the Absolute Glasses: Episode 7
Gim Seon was curious.
About just what would happen in two years.
After that person left, Gim Seon approached Yuhan and asked in a whisper,
“Who was that, to make you act like that?”
Yuhan spoke into Gim Seon’s ear.
“You’ll know in two years!”
Answering that he would tell her when the time came, he returned to his seat and, waiting for the next guest, thought:
‘A connection formed in a single meeting is not easily encountered!’
The next guest to enter was a woman.
She was an ordinary young woman in modest clothing. She asked whether it was right to continue with her current job, which was too stressful, or if she should find different work.
Yuhan looked at her through his glasses and thought:
‘What should I do about this person?’
[Gim Miyeong, age 30.]
[Bank employee with weak performance.]
[Being harassed by the deputy branch manager.]
[Recommendation: Entrust funds to her.]
She was a woman who worked at a bank.
She was thirty, the same age as Yuhan. Having graduated from a technical college and luckily gotten a job at Happy Bank, she had diligently saved money and lived a stable life until now.
However, since this year was a period when employees with weak performance were being pushed into voluntary retirement, she was suffering under the deputy branch manager.
Thinking of changing jobs, she had heard a famous fortune teller’s shop had opened in the neighborhood and came seeking an answer.
“Hold out until the end! Someone will come to help you!”
“Really? But I’m struggling so much! I want to quit right this instant!”
“Your benefactor will appear soon.”
“What? Then I’ll try to believe you! I truly hope it happens that way!”
For the first time since Gim Seon, Yuhan saw someone the glasses recommended.
After thinking deeply, Yuhan became certain.
‘To build wealth, I suppose I must manage money well?’
The last guest, the female bank employee, left.
When closing time came, everyone gathered.
Yuhan looked at Gim Seon and asked,
“How should we manage our money?”
“For now, I’ve left it at my regular bank in our neighborhood. The Virgin Bodhisattva said she didn’t know how to manage a large sum of money, so she’s learning from me!”
I Dahui said, her face turning red.
“Whenever I earned money, it was always in the negative, and I don’t know how to make it grow!”
It was unexpectedly wise thinking from I Dahui.
From what Yuhan had observed, I Dahui had a habit of spending money as soon as she earned it.
It meant she was like a bottomless jar.
He felt fortunate that Gim Seon was managing the funds.
But no matter how trustworthy Gim Seon was, it didn’t seem right to entrust everything to her.
“Gim Seon! I know you’ll help us well, but please manage the money jointly under your name and Dahui’s! Among the guests who came today, there was a bank employee! I think it would be good to entrust money to her!”

Gim Seon and Dahui went straight to Happy Bank, where Gim Miyeong worked, the next day.
Ding-dong!
“Guest number 123, please come to the counter.”
They went to the counter and presented a check.
“What have you come to do?”
“We’re here to open an account!”
The female employee sitting at the counter checked the check.
[1,000,000,000]
The startled employee immediately reported to the deputy branch manager.
At this, the deputy branch manager came out beaming and bowed obsequiously.
“Customer! Thank you so much. We will safely take custody of these funds. First, for the procedure, please follow me this way.”
He seemed to be guiding them to the VIP room.
It seemed the deputy branch manager was trying to claim this business for himself.
Of course, the two did not trust the deputy branch manager with their money.
And they had also heard from Yuhan.
[You must never entrust money to that deputy branch manager.]
The two had not forgotten Yuhan’s words.
“No! We want to entrust our money to Ms. Gim Miyeong going forward!”
The bank employees all simultaneously looked at Gim Miyeong with envious eyes.
One billion won was an enormous amount of money.
But to say they would continue entrusting money to her going forward—it was inevitably surprising.
At this, the embarrassed deputy branch manager’s face turned red.
Gim Miyeong looked at the customers seeking her out in surprise.
She recognized who they were at a glance and was moved.
“Thank you, customer. I will do my utmost to serve you with all my heart.”

Another month passed.
Now the clouds were high, the weather had turned cool, and the trees changed into clothes of reddish-brown leaves, announcing that autumn had arrived.
Even more customers frequented the fortune teller’s shop.
A banner stating they would move soon was posted in front of the main gate.
That day, too, was busy and bustling with many guests, no different from any other.
“I’m struggling a lot right now. Can I make a comeback?”
It was a man roughly wearing a disheveled, wrinkled suit with a brown balmacaan coat draped over it.
His hair was a mess, and his appearance was unspeakable.
As usual, Yuhan looked at him through his glasses and thought:
[Gim Myeongseok, age 35, Deputy at Muhan Stock Company.]
[The stocks he selected dropped heavily, and many clients left.]
[He has thoughts of suicide.]
[Comeback possible, has a knack for hitting it big.]
[Recommendation: Invest in this person.]
Yuhan had met someone the glasses recommended for the first time in a while.
Facing such a Myeongseok, he took his hand, reassured him, and comforted him.
“A benefactor will appear soon, and I see signs of a big break. Don’t think otherwise, have a meal that person buys you, and cheer up! You must return to the company!”
“Yes, thank you, Daoist master! *Sniff!* *Sniff!*”
Showing how hard it had been, he shed tears on the spot, revealing how grievous his suffering had been.
It truly could not help but be a pitiful and heart-wrenching sight.
Yuhan himself thought about what would have become of him had he not obtained the glasses and had time passed until now.
‘Sigh… I could have ended up like him…!’
Gim Seon could not help but think Yuhan was remarkable.
He never spoke ill of people.
She loved how he read people’s hearts well, comforted them, and wished for their success.
She also thought he had the ability to help people directly and create positive factors for himself.
And the way money was quickly earned in a short time seemed as if someone was helping him.
Just as bank employee Gim Miyeong had become a manager in this promotion cycle because Yuhan had helped her directly.
Gim Miyeong joyfully bought a whipped cream cake and brought it.
Saying it was all thanks to the Daoist master, she asked them to celebrate her, had a party, expressed her gratitude, and left.
Seeing that he had told her to buy this man a meal today too, Gim Seon thought he must be sending this person to her.
The fortune teller’s shop was already gaining fame.
With sales skyrocketing, fund management had become a concern.
The way timing fell into place so appropriately felt as if the heavens were helping.
‘Phew… I saved a person.’
* * *
The fortune teller’s shop had a rare day off.
A black luxury sedan entered and parked in front of the shop.
Gim Seon got out of the car, and shortly after, Yuhan and I Dahui came out of the shop.
The three got in the car and departed, heading somewhere, and the curious Yuhan asked,
“Where are we going?”
“As you mentioned before, I made an appointment with Mr. Gim Myeongseok!”
The group immediately visited the Muhan Stock Company branch.
On the left side of the first-floor lobby, many people were gathered where stock market information was displayed.
Yuhan wondered what kind of people spent their time in such a place.
‘Should I go take a look?’
Gim Seon was inquiring at the lobby reception desk.
While Deputy Gim Myeongseok was coming down, Yuhan went to see what people were doing at the market board displayed on the LED.
Among them, a neat-looking middle-aged man who seemed quite advanced in age, watching the market board with concern, particularly impressed Yuhan.
‘Are they all stock traders?’
The people’s eyes were bloodshot.
It was proof they were concentrating immensely.
Then Yuhan’s eyes stopped on one person who looked composed.
At the same time, curiosity arose, and the glasses’ answer appeared before his eyes.
[A fairly seasoned stock investor.]
[Searching for start-up companies to invest in.]
[Knows many people among investors, has a lot of accurate information.]
‘Oh! If he’s seasoned in this field, he must have made quite a bit of money! Can I perhaps see where he’s planning to invest?’
[Decision: Long-term investment in Blue Korea Bio Co.]
[Decision: Short-term investment in Real Battery Co.]
[Judgment: No losses when investing in these two places.]
‘Oh! This works!’
Finding it fascinating, Yuhan became absorbed in the market board.
In the meantime, Gim Seon, having apparently finished her inquiry, called for Yuhan.
“Yuhan. He’ll be right down.”
“Yes! I’m coming.”
Shortly after, Deputy Gim Myeongseok came down and discovered Yuhan’s group.
“Prophet Daoist?”
“Yes! That’s right. It’s me.”
“What brings you here?”
Yuhan looked him up and down. Unlike when they first met, he was smartly dressed.
Rather, he was the very picture of a perfected office worker, with perfect attire, a handsome face, and a tall, commanding appearance.
“We came to see you, Deputy! We want to invest!”
“Ah, I see! Excuse me?”
Deputy Gim Myeongseok composed his surprised mind and escorted the group to an office for receiving clients.
Thus the four began conversing about investment over tea.
“Thanks to you, Daoist master, I’ve stabilized a lot and took on a small project this time, which I succeeded in. Though it’s not quite a comeback yet! I will try my hardest.”
“Yes! You did very well! First, we’d like to invest about one billion won, so please choose well and invest it for us!”
“O-one billion won! That’s no small amount!”
“That’s why we sought you out, Deputy Gim Myeongseok. Please make your comeback!”
“Yes! Thank you so much. I will stake my life to hit it big this time.”
“Do you happen to know Blue Korea and Real Battery?”
“I know both are start-up companies.”
“They’re start-ups, but are they places that will rise soon?”
“I’ll need to look into it. Are these places you know, Daoist master?”
“No! Then I’ll leave that to you! Please diversify with a few places Deputy Kim recommends and manage it well!”
“Yes, I will do that.”
Gim Myeongseok knew the companies Yuhan had mentioned.
They were start-ups that had not been around long, places where stock value was not yet very high.
‘They’re not places that would rise immediately?’
It was Deputy Gim Myeongseok’s misconception.
The two places Yuhan picked would both suddenly see their stock prices shoot up starting tomorrow.
Yuhan gave Deputy Gim Myeongseok the phone number of Bank Manager Gim Miyeong and set off.
Next, they moved and arrived at a luxury imported car dealership in the center of Gyeonggi Province, which Gim Seon had planned in secret from the two.
“Why have we come here?”
“We’ll need a car when we move the shop! Public transportation won’t be easy to use there.”
“I see!”
When Gim Seon explained to Yuhan and I Dahui, I Dahui jumped for joy at the thought of getting an imported car.
And a sales associate approached them as they were talking.
“Which car have you come to see?”
“Please show us the safest car!”
The sales associate who had approached and asked began guiding them and explained the cars.
But from what Yuhan could see, rather than showing them cars with safety in mind, the sales associate seemed to be wasting a lot of time in one spot trying to sell the car he wanted.
Thinking it wouldn’t do since he was dragging on too long, Yuhan put on the glasses he hadn’t been using.
[Manager Jeong Cheolhwan, age 42.]
[Seeing them as easy marks.]
[Trying to sell the most expensive car to boost his performance.]
[Recommends the female employee visible next to him.]
This time, he looked at the female employee next to him through the glasses and thought:
‘Would it be okay to buy a car from that employee?’
[Employee I Jihye, age 27.]
[Devoted to her customers.]
[Resolves issues regarding her customers’ cars herself.]
[Truly thinks of the customers.]
[Recommendation: Purchase from her.]
Yuhan was startled at the word “recommendation.”
Pleased by the word recommendation, he called Gim Seon aside separately and asked,
“I want to buy from her! Would that be impossible?”
“No! Of course it’s possible!”
Gim Seon went to Manager Jeong Cheolhwan and spoke, then turned around with the group.
“The employee who guided us kindly when we came before is right there! Thank you for your help!”
I Dahui and Yuhan scurried after Gim Seon, who had turned away coldly.
Yuhan thought Gim Seon’s quick decisiveness looked truly sophisticated.
‘Wow… So cool! When will I be able to be so confident and composed?’
When Yuhan looked back, Manager Jeong Cheolhwan was flustered with his mouth open.
And Yuhan caught him mouthing curses at them.
Yuhan thought that a person’s nature doesn’t change after all, and that his choice was right.
Gim Seon approached the waiting female employee and spoke.
“Please show us a car!”
“Thank you. Customer, I am Employee I Jihye. I will serve you with all my heart.”
As expected, she approached kindly without a hint of disarray.
“What kind of car are you looking for? Do you have something in mind? Please feel free to look around.”
“First, something safe and simple would be good! Price doesn’t matter.”
