Dawn Over the Dark Ruins

The world is gravely ill. Every familiar shadow—from the darkness between one’s fingers to silhouettes beneath streetlights and gloom within caves—can give birth to a strange mist that warps human flesh, while corpse-fiends and monsters overrun the ruins of civilization. When Zhuang Fan awakens to discover he is the only human capable of controlling this eerie mist, he ventures into the wasteland to explore ruins, build trade routes, preserve the last sparks of hope, and attempt to rebuild mankind—despite hostile corporations, human betrayal, corpse tides, and the malice of the world itself.
