At that moment, Long Ming slung the gun across his back in satisfaction, then let his gaze fall on the map.

He reached out and wiped the dust from the map. At once, a simple map of the entire mobile fortress appeared.

Long Ming scanned the map with his wristband.

“Notification: You have illuminated the Lekeduo Desert map.”

A notification immediately popped up on the wristband.

Long Ming at once checked the map in his wristband and discovered that the map of the desert he was in had been unlocked. He could now clearly see the terrain distribution of the entire region.

He then began studying the illuminated map carefully.

Although this was only a game, it was made so realistically that Long Ming grew increasingly curious about the history of this world.

He very much wanted to figure out what had once happened here, how those monsters had been born, and whether it truly was those monsters that had caused the natives’ extinction.

Unfortunately, so far, he had not found any valuable clues.

However, Long Ming had a feeling that as long as he could enter the interior of the mobile fortress, he should be able to obtain some clues.

Bang—

Suddenly, the piercing sound of gunfire rang out in the distance.

Long Ming’s eyes instantly sharpened, and he immediately rushed out of the iron house.

From the volume of the gunshot, he could judge that it was not very far from him. Could it be that Gu Yi and the others had run into trouble?

Within a narrow alley.

Gu Yi and Chen Wei were running forward with all their might.

Behind them, five players were chasing them relentlessly, and the ones in the lead were none other than Zheng Bin and Cao Heng.

“Hurry up, they’re catching up!”

Chen Wei shouted anxiously at Gu Yi.

“Fuck, I know!”

Gu Yi replied in a sorry state.

At that moment, Zheng Bin raised the Dukap K1 single-shot rifle in his hand, aimed at the running Gu Yi, and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

“Ah!”

Chen Wei let out a miserable cry, then collapsed to the ground with a thud. Crimson blood stained the ground red.

“Fuck, why is this gun’s accuracy so awful!”

Seeing that Gu Yi had not fallen, and that it was instead Chen Wei who had been shot in the butt, Zheng Bin could not help but curse.

“Damn it!”

Seeing Chen Wei get hit, Gu Yi turned around in fury, raised the Dukap K1 rifle in his hand, and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

The bullet whistled past Zheng Bin and the others and struck the wall.

They were startled as well, and their pursuit came to a temporary halt.

At that moment, Gu Yi reached out, wanting to help Chen Wei up.

Clutching his butt and enduring the pain, Chen Wei shouted at Gu Yi.

“Go, hurry! Otherwise we’ll both die here!”

“But!”

“No buts! Run! Otherwise they’ll get the advantage for nothing.”

“Bastards!”

Seeing that Chen Wei could no longer be saved, Gu Yi could only set him down on the ground, grit his teeth, and run forward.

“Where do you think you’re running!”

Cao Heng raised the gun in his hand and pulled the trigger at the fleeing Gu Yi.

Bang!

Gu Yi ducked his head, and the bullet struck the alley wall, sending sparks flying everywhere.

His heart could not help but tremble. He suddenly sped up, charged to the intersection ahead, and turned into another alley.

“Fuck, chase him!”

Seeing that Gu Yi was about to get farther away, Zheng Bin grew a little anxious and chased after him with all his might.

At that moment, Chen Wei, who had been shot, reached out and hugged Zheng Bin’s thigh, gritting his teeth as he shouted.

“Don’t even think about getting past!”

“Fuck, die!”

Zheng Bin was immediately held back. In anger, he raised his gun and fired another shot at Chen Wei’s head.

Bang—

In an instant, Chen Wei’s head burst open. His body turned into specks of light, and the backpack on him dropped to the ground.

However, Zheng Bin and the others did not even spare it a glance. Instead, they hurriedly gave chase.

When they followed and turned into the other alley, they discovered that Gu Yi had already rushed out of the alley and run outside.

They chased after him in extreme anxiety.

At this moment, Gu Yi ran into a small circular plaza.

The entire small plaza was empty. Houses surrounded it on all sides, and in the central area stood a blurred bronze statue.

He frantically sprinted toward the way he had come.

Very soon, Zheng Bin and the others chased their way out. Cao Heng shouted with a dark expression.

“He’s about to get away.”

“Hmph, dreaming if he thinks he can run!”

Zheng Bin raised the gun in his hand toward Gu Yi and pulled the trigger again.

Bang—

“Ah!”

Gu Yi instantly fell heavily to the ground. Clutching his wounded left leg, he howled in pain and crawled toward the statue before hiding behind the one-meter-tall circular metal base beneath it.

Seeing that Gu Yi had been shot, Zheng Bin and the others immediately ran over excitedly.

Gu Yi took a deep breath, then immediately poked his head out, raised his gun, and fired at Zheng Bin and the others.

Bang!

The bullet instantly struck the wall beside Zheng Bin, sending sparks flying.

Zheng Bin and the others’ expressions changed slightly. They hurriedly stopped and retreated back into the side path, not daring to rush forward rashly. The main reason was that there was little cover in the plaza, making it very easy to get hit.

Although they had more people and could definitely take down Gu Yi, none of them wanted to die.

At this moment, Zheng Bin shouted at the wounded Gu Yi.

“Kid, you can’t run anymore. Hand the stuff over obediently, and we’ll spare your life.”

“In your dreams! You bastards, I’ll slaughter you all sooner or later!”

As Gu Yi spoke, he ejected the cartridge casing and prepared to chamber another round, only to discover that the chamber was empty. For a moment, his heart sank even further.

“I advise you not to refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit! If we catch you in a bit, you’ll have plenty of suffering to endure.”

Zheng Bin threatened viciously.

“Come if you’ve got the guts. I won’t shoot anyone else—I’ll just keep my sights on you!”

Gu Yi endured the pain and stubbornly shot back.

He had no bullets left. All he could do was stall for as much time as possible.

“Fuck!”

Zheng Bin was driven mad with anger by Gu Yi.

“Why are we wasting words with him? Can’t we just go up together and kill him?”

Cao Heng looked at Zheng Bin in some confusion.

“People could die. Also, did you forget about the safe box?”

Greed appeared on Zheng Bin’s face. Although he had been a little far away at the time, he could not have seen wrong. This guy had definitely gotten something good.

“You’re still the thoughtful one. But this guy’s pretty tough. I doubt he’ll cooperate.”

Cao Heng immediately reacted. If this guy stuffed it into the safe box, then all their work would have been for nothing.

“Then kill him. However much we get is however much we get.”

A trace of ruthlessness appeared on Zheng Bin’s face.

“Fine.”

Cao Heng and the others all raised the guns in their hands, keeping to the edges of his line of sight as they felt their way toward Gu Yi.

Gu Yi secretly poked his head out and took a look. Seeing Zheng Bin and the others cautiously surrounding him, despair appeared on his face.

Bang!

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out.

Gu Yi was instantly startled, thinking he had been shot. But then he discovered that nothing had happened to him at all, so he poked his head out again and looked over.

He saw Cao Heng’s eyes widen enormously as he collapsed stiffly to the ground.

Zheng Bin and the others were immediately badly frightened and at once looked toward the direction the gunshot had come from.

They saw Long Ming standing on the protruding platform on the second floor to their right, holding a single-shot rifle as he quickly ejected the cartridge casing and chambered another round.

“Fuck!”

Zheng Bin and the others immediately raised their guns and fired at Long Ming.

Bang, bang—

Long Ming also retreated at once, pulling back into a blind spot.

Bullets struck the wall and the iron platform one after another, sending sparks flying everywhere.

When he poked his head out again, bullets shot over once more.

Clang, clang—

Long Ming was directly suppressed back.

“Damn it. Shalu, you stay here and watch him. Sun Wu, Wu Kang, you two come with me!”

Seeing that they could not hit Long Ming, Zheng Bin instructed Shalu to stay behind while he took Sun Wu and the other with him to chase after Long Ming.

Seeing Zheng Bin and the others coming after him, Long Ming immediately turned and ran.

He ran along the protruding platform on the second floor for a stretch before two forked paths appeared before him.

He did not run in the direction where Gu Yi had fallen, instead choosing the opposite direction to avoid leading the enemy over there.

“Bastard, don’t run if you’ve got the guts!”

Seeing that Long Ming was trying to escape, Zheng Bin and the others chased after him desperately from below.

Long Ming then hunched his body and, relying on blind spots in their vision and the dense buildings as cover, ran along the protruding platform.
