But it was precisely at that moment.

“To think you’d try to kill an innocent person. How unbecoming of an angel.”

Shick! Sgeok! Thud!

Along with a cold girl’s voice, one of the Celestial Army soldiers had his throat cut and collapsed to the ground.

“Who goes there!”

As the Celestial soldiers shouted in bewilderment, a girl in her late teens stood there, possessing silver-tinged blue hair and calm black eyes.

“A human?”

While the Celestial soldiers were bewildered, the girl raised a sharp sword and spoke.

“You absolutely cannot pass through here.”

“An impudent human wretch!”

At that sight, Artamus roared and raised his hand.

Kwah-gaga-gagang!

Immediately, an explosive roar that shook the surroundings rang out.

***

Kwah-gaga-gagang!

“What the!”

“This is celestial mana!”

At the tremendous roar, Seiran and Reuben leaped up from their seats with expressions of shock.

“Lord Jehwa is gone!”

“Where did this brat run off to again!”

The two hardened their faces and immediately went outside.

***

“Owowowow! My whole body!”

From within the explosion, Keirnia emerged, staggering. The shock must have been considerable, as her face was scrunched up terribly.

“You’re unhurt?”

At the sight, Artamus’s face hardened stiffly. He had used it in a fit of anger, but it wasn’t such weak magic that one could take a direct hit and remain fine.

“Why, you! You’re no ordinary fellow!”

As Artamus tried to draw his sword…

“My mood is suddenly turning foul.”

A gloomy, cold voice rang out. At that, not only Keirnia but even the angels all froze.

“Why am I in such a bad mood?”

Everyone’s gaze turned toward the direction of the voice. There, a youth in his late teens with silver-tinged black hair and black eyes stood grinning foolishly.

It was none other than Jehwa.

And Jehwa was precisely unleashing a terrifying killing intent toward the angels.

‘C-can this truly be killing intent emitted by a human?’

Cold sweat began to flow down Artamus’s face.

Keirnia was equally startled.

‘This child… was he this strong?’

She had known he was hiding some strength, but she had never dreamed it would be so vast.

At that moment, the grinning Jehwa snatched the head of the angel standing beside him.

“It seems the cause of this foul mood is these mutated birds….”

An angel known to be holy had instantly fallen to being a mutated bird.

“E-euaaaah!”

The angel who had been swinging his sword at Jehwa with a shocked expression… in an instant…

Pop!

His head burst apart.

Jehwa looked at the brains and blood on his hand, scrunching up his face before flicking it away lightly.

“For some reason, my mood is terribly bad.”

The brilliantly smiling Jehwa’s face hardened stiffly.

“Die.”

***

“Ugh! Pursuers!”

“Did they come with the angels?”

Reuben and Seiran frowned as they spotted the Imperial pursuers visible in the distance.

“The atmosphere suggests they intend to kill everyone in the village?”

“Tch! And they call themselves human?”

Grumbling at Seiran’s words, Reuben drew his sword. And with eyes dripping with killing intent, he looked at the pursuers before him and muttered.

“Angels, huh… how many do you think we can take together?”

“We’ll know if we fight.”

Seiran and Reuben rushed toward the pursuers simultaneously.

***

Crack!

“Keuak!”

At Jehwa’s attack, the angel rolled across the ground again. In an instant, the soldiers of the Heavenly Realm’s Celestial Army lay sprawled on the cold floor.

Meanwhile, Artamus had been blocked by Keirnia and couldn’t do anything to Jehwa.

“You’re the last one!”

Slash!

“Keuak!”

The single remaining Celestial Army soldier thus lost his life.

“Keuk!”

Watching that sight, Artamus glared at Jehwa with bloodshot eyes.

*Grin!*

But Jehwa merely smiled. Then he suddenly pointed a finger at him.

Ping!

“Keuk?”

Something that shot out from Jehwa’s finger in an instant grazed Artamus’s cheek.

“What is this!”

Artamus made a bewildered expression at the completely unfamiliar thing.

It was not of the Heavenly Realm, nor the Demon Realm, nor the Dragon Realm. It was certainly not of the Middle Realm either.

“It’s something I learned… over there.”

What Jehwa referred to as ‘over there’ was precisely the murim.

It was a technique similar to the finger force utilized by murim martial artists.

Having wandered for a year in the murim, Jehwa had seen and learned many things.

And the finger force executed from Jehwa’s hand possessed enough power to pierce through an angel’s head.

“Why, you!”

The moment Artamus roared and lunged at him after seeing Jehwa’s mocking face…

“Where do you think you’re going!”

Suaak!

Keirnia’s sword, containing immense coldness, swung toward Artamus.

“You wretches!”

Killing intent began to drip from Artamus’s eyes.

To think that he, a Commander of the Heavenly Realm’s Celestial Army, would be pushed back by mere humans! Impossible!

“Mar……. Eng……. Gryu……. Byul……. Hwirown…….”

Artamus began to chant a flame spell with his mouth.

As powerful heat spread around them, Jehwa made an annoyed expression.

“Damn! More than anything in the world, I hate hot things!”

Suddenly, killing intent began to drip from Jehwa’s eyes. He was already furious, and the heat created by Artamus’s celestial mana made him even angrier.

In the end, Artamus’s magic ended up stoking the flames of Jehwa’s wrath.

As Jehwa complained annoyedly and tried to pounce on Artamus…

“Yusheshya……. Weyaryu……. Tyu……. Byurasyu…….”

At the chanting voice coming from beside them, his eyes widened into circles.

Artamus too made a shocked expression upon hearing the chant.

“This is…….”

He looked at Keirnia with an expression of disbelief.

“Divine realm magic? Y-you are!”

“Yar……. Berun……. Tyurashi! Moonlight!”

Boom!

“Kuaaaaaaak!”

By the particles of light bursting from Keirnia, Artamus disappeared without a trace.

At that sight, Jehwa looked at Keirnia with a blank expression.

After taking a deep breath, Keirnia smiled brightly at Jehwa, who was blankly staring at her.

“Were you surprised?”

Jehwa answered that question with a serious face.

“Monster.”

And at those words, a vein bulged on Keirnia’s forehead.

“Who are you calling a monster!”

“Uwaaaaah! The monster is angry!”

“Kak!”

At Jehwa’s words, Keirnia let out a shriek.

“Keoeok! T-this can’t be…….”

The last remaining soldier fell to the ground at Reuben’s sword as well.

“What happened? The angels’ presence has completely vanished?”

When Reuben muttered curiously, Seiran spoke with a grave expression.

“A powerful presence appeared.”

At Seiran’s words, Reuben frowned.

“And that killed all the angels?”

“Probably.”

“What on earth?”

Reuben’s expression changed gravely.

Except for the Beast Realm, there was no world that was favorable to them.

“Don’t tell me it’s a spirit beast?”

“It’s not a spirit beast.”

When Seiran shook his head in denial, Reuben let out a deep sigh.

“Anyway! Now’s not the time to worry about such things! We have to find Lord Jehwa.”

When Seiran spoke with a hardened expression…

“What are you two doing?”

“Uing?”

Seiran’s eyes widened into circles as he looked at Jehwa, who had suddenly appeared.

“Lord Jehwa, are you alright?”

“Yeah.”

Jehwa flashed a bright smile at Seiran, who was looking at him worriedly.

“You, where have you been wandering during this chaotic time?”

When Reuben spoke with a frown, Jehwa tilted his head.

“A walk?”

Having just killed ten angels, he dared to call it a walk.

At Jehwa’s words, Reuben and Seiran let out sighs of relief, and Keirnia, who had come with them, looked at Jehwa with an expression of ‘What, there’s actually a guy like this?’

***

“I was worried because of the loud explosion last night, but I’m glad nothing happened.”

At Pira’s words, Keirnia smiled awkwardly.

“Yes, what a relief.”

“Guests, you weren’t inconvenienced at night, were you?”

When Pira asked, Reuben nodded.

“No, we were fine.”

Meanwhile, Seiran’s face was quite bright at the thought of leaving the village today.

He seemed overjoyed at the thought that Jehwa and Keirnia would no longer meet.

In the middle of the meal, Keirnia called out to Pira.

“Um, Mother.”

“Yes?”

“I want to go on a trip.”

“……!”

At Keirnia’s words, Pira’s eyes widened into circles.

“I’ve always wanted to see the world. Now that I’ve had my coming-of-age ceremony, I want to try traveling.”

Looking at Keirnia speaking with a gentle smile, Pira spoke with a bewildered expression.

“B-but dear, aren’t you a girl? The world is full of so many dangers…….”

“I know magic and I can wield a sword, so I’ll be fine. Besides… I intend to go with these people as well.”

“What?”

At that, Seiran made a shocked expression.

Looking at Seiran like that, Keirnia smiled and asked Jehwa.

“It’ll be fine, right?”

“I don’t mind.”

Keirnia smiled brightly at Jehwa’s words.

“Then… it can’t be helped… since you put it that way.”

Pira let out a deep sigh.

She knew her daughter’s stubbornness better than anyone.

“I wonder who you take after…….”

Pira shook her head and muttered.

As if she had prepared through the night, Keirnia came out with light travel supplies.

“Please tell Siriel for me.”

“Alright.”

Keirnia smiled bitterly as she thought of Siriel, her only friend of the same age in the village, and asked this of Pira.

“Then I’ll be going.”

“Haa… don’t get involved in anything too dangerous. You seem like kind people, so I’m letting her go with you but… this mother is worried.”

“Please don’t worry too much.”

Keirnia smiled, checked her luggage once more, and left the house.

Watching her retreating figure, Pira could only smile bitterly.
