024 Golden Boy and Jade Girl, A Match Made in Heaven

Feng Jiuge smiled from the side, her eyes narrowed, grinning from ear to ear: "He said it's a meeting gift, so just accept it. What are you being so polite with him for? What's my man's is mine."

At these words, Yun Aotian's closed eyes moved slightly, the corners of his mouth curving into an almost imperceptible smile.

Hei Jin shot Hei Yu and Hei Feng a disdainful glance. He had never imagined that his brothers who had shared weal and woe with him for over ten years would actually surrender to the enemy for a single medicinal pill. The feeling in his heart was incredibly sour.

His baby face darkened. Stomping his foot, without so much as a word, he leaped directly out of Zhuanjiang Pavilion.

"Ahhh—"

A shrill scream rang out abruptly. Hei Yu and Hei Feng felt their hearts skip a beat and immediately prepared to go out and look, but Feng Jiuge smiled and waved her hand, indicating it was nothing serious.

"Most likely that kid used too much force and crashed into the outer eaves himself. If you go over now, he would have already felt embarrassed and slunk away to hide. You should stop worrying about him and go rest first."

"Yes."

The Three Blacks left, not one remaining. Feng Jiuge looked at the graying sky outside that was already beginning to show the first pale light of dawn, then turned back. Under that faint gray light, she looked at the half of Yun Aotian's face that was illuminated, tugged up the corners of her mouth in a light smile, pulled over the down blanket beside her, curled into a ball, and fell asleep right there on the soft couch.

When she woke up, it was actually dusk. The sunset on the horizon was infinitely beautiful, its orange radiance splendid as rosy clouds.

Feng Jiuge was like a leisurely Persian cat, languidly stretching. She raised her eyes to look toward Yun Aotian.

He was still in meditation, eyes closed just as before. However, upon closer inspection, one could clearly see that his complexion had slowly approached that of a normal person, and the scars on his body were gradually healing in a wondrous manner.

Feng Jiuge moved her limbs. Those scabbed wounds pulled at her skin, seeming as though if she moved any more vigorously they would split open and spurt out streams of fresh blood.

Truly, even among people, fates differed. What kind of martial art did Yun Aotian have, that it could actually let wounds heal automatically?

She stretched out her index finger to poke his chest, but a large hand suddenly intercepted in the middle, grasping her wrist. Feng Jiuge smiled upon seeing this, her gaze deepening. "Husband, you're awake. How do you feel? Shall I have someone get you something to eat?"

Yun Aotian shook his head. "You go eat. I have no interest in your food."

"No interest in your food"? What did that mean?

Feng Jiuge believed that her brain should only be used for things worth using it on. Since Yun Aotian himself said he wouldn't eat, she couldn't be bothered to think of a reason for him. She pulled her hand out from his grasp. "Then rest here. I'll go eat something. Early tomorrow morning I'll take you back to meet my family. If you want to back out now, it's still not too late."

Yun Aotian pressed his thin lips tightly together and said nothing. Instead, he raised his hand and spread open his palm. Within that palm, a wisp of faint blue flickered, seemingly so fragile that even a gentle breeze could scatter that wisp of blue qi.

The wounds on his body could heal, but the power in his entire body was completely gone, not a single bit remaining.

Feng Jiuge raised an eyebrow, watching Yun Aotian's movement.

It seemed this husband of hers wouldn't be taking that role for nothing. Her job as a bodyguard was truly set in stone.

Heh, it was laughable to even say it out loud. The Feng family's Ninth Miss, a good-for-nothing without a trace of battle qi, was even bringing along a good-for-nothing husband without any power at all. They really were a golden boy and jade girl, a match made in heaven.

Feng Jiuge thought of this and couldn't hold back for a moment, letting out a burst of laughter. However, when she raised her head to meet Yun Aotian's gloomy eyes, she immediately explained, "I wasn't laughing at you, but rather…"
