Chapter 3 Primal Power Warhammer (First Update!)

6 min read1,259 words

Beneath flesh and blood, it was as if an invisible great drum had suddenly been struck!

That flesh-and-blood machine called a human had its throttle wrenched to the maximum in an instant!

In a trance, a ferocious roar seemed to shake the heavens!

Blood Battle!

This was the first time Yi Qingfeng had tried using it, apart from the panel information displayed before his eyes.

It allowed him to deeply feel a wild power utterly different from the dimension of reality!

It was an application whose process could not be described in detail.

Like breathing:

When you focused your consciousness there, you could naturally control it.

Invisibly, it was as if fire were roaring in his pulse!

Or as if he had suddenly swallowed a handful of choking chili powder.

Uncontrollably, a roar coughed out from his throat:

“Roar!”

It was an unprecedentedly violent power!

The tangled shrubs swept rapidly past Yi Qingfeng’s eyes!

At this moment, his bulky padded jacket seemed to have turned into a can of steel.

This was the first time Yi Qingfeng had run in such a manner since the end of his university physical fitness test.

Or rather—it was the first charge of his life!

Those goblins with humanoid bodies were right before his eyes!

Their ugly, savage, alien faces were so clear.

Fear?

Unease?

Yi Qingfeng swung the axe blade in his hand first toward the goblin’s greenish-brown neck!

It was unlike the crisp, cold hardness of chopping through frozen meat, and unlike the sticky resistance of slicing fresh meat.

After that fleeting elasticity and toughness came a brittle crack transmitted along the axe blade!

Blood and tissue fluid, released from pressure, drew a glaring red arc through the air.

In that instant, Yi Qingfeng could smell an indescribable, throat-itching fishy sweetness!

At the same time, attacks from the other goblins landed on him from every direction.

The goblins’ weapons were not uniform:

There were crudely made small spears, as well as rusted blades and swords.

The power of Blood Battle did not suppress pain.

And so, it brought an even deeper fury!

It was as if the goblin’s blood had seeped in through the gaps of his helmet, staining Yi Qingfeng’s eyes a cruel crimson!

…………

…………

When the axe, which an hour ago had still been brand new on a shelf,

was roughly embedded into the skull of the last goblin,

the blood-colored world swiftly receded from before Yi Qingfeng’s eyes…

He stood upon ground that seemed to have been painted over with blood.

Looking around, there were no enemies left that could still move…

The earth was silent and still.

At this moment, Yi Qingfeng could clearly hear his own heartbeat, like thunder.

He took off his battered helmet and tore off the padded jacket that had already been reduced to a sorry state.

At this moment, sweat mixed with blood had already soaked his undershirt…

And then, new Omninet prompt messages surfaced from the pool of blood in his vision:

“Omninet Prompt: You have completed the trial instance. You have unlocked daily instances and related basic permissions.”

“Omninet Prompt: You have completed one normal instance. Based on your version traits, you have unlocked the random instance talent group [Monster Quantity]. You have obtained 1 point of Treasure-Hunting Talent.”

“Omninet Prompt: You have obtained 500 Slaughter Experience (version bonus 500%)!”

“Omninet Prompt: You have obtained an instance drop: Primal-Power Warhammer (White).”

Primal-Power Warhammer (White):

Equipment Type: Two-handed hammer

Equipment Level: 1

Equipment Requirement: Strength 10

Equipment Attack: 5–9 (bludgeoning)

Durability: 9/9

Equipment Description:

A warhammer forged by goblins. It seems to have gone through a sufficiently brutal battle.

Now, it can only be used through primal power…

Yi Qingfeng looked at the prompt messages that surfaced before his eyes.

The impassioned aftertaste of battle had yet to fully fade.

Or rather:

In an environment filled with goblin corpses and blood, it was very difficult for a person to regain calm in a short period of time.

Yi Qingfeng subconsciously felt his pocket.

Considering the effects of combat, he naturally had not brought his phone, much less cigarettes.

So he looked at the axe in his hand, stained with blood.

Due to overly rough use and direct confrontation,

quite a few notches had already appeared on the axe blade.

Perhaps if he sharpened it, it could still be used in a pinch?

But now, he seemed to have a more reliable option.

After thinking for a moment, Yi Qingfeng tossed the axe in his hand onto the ground.

He did not know what would happen to this instance after he left.

But clearly, bringing these things back to deal with them might cause trouble.

As everyone knew:

Trash cans were not black holes…

As for spoils of war?

Yi Qingfeng discovered that aside from the prompt messages that had appeared before his eyes, the goblin corpses and possessions on the ground had not disappeared.

Of course, there was nothing there worth mentioning either.

If the enemies had been a herd of wild boars, perhaps he could have cut off some meat…

With enough spices, he could probably stew up a fine pot.

But goblins?

Their only value had already been stripped away…

Without lingering here any longer, Yi Qingfeng tried opening the Omninet panel.

It was as if there were an invisible “power button” belonging to the Omninet panel.

As his consciousness touched it, the Omninet panel he had looked over who knew how many times immediately appeared before his eyes.

And in the instance interface, he found the option to exit the instance.

The next moment, as Yi Qingfeng clicked in the void, he abruptly lost all perception of his surroundings…

…………

…………

When Yi Qingfeng opened his eyes again, he discovered that he had already returned to his small room.

The time displayed on the computer screen

proved that time had passed after he entered the instance.

Because he had not brought his phone, Yi Qingfeng did not know whether it had been at a 1:1 ratio.

He did not care that much about it.

For someone who had already quit his job and had no living relatives,

he could invest all his time and energy into this without worrying about other disturbances.

At least, that would be the case before he exhausted his savings…

Yi Qingfeng did not dwell on this issue either.

If he already had the Omninet panel and still obsessed over making money,

then perhaps his version number ought to be related to wealth?

In any case, he would not starve—for now, if he encountered a suitable instance, he probably would not even need to buy meat…

Yi Qingfeng thought as much.

And he quickly noticed the changes to his body:

Although before exiting the instance, he had tossed away that heavily battle-damaged padded jacket covered in goblin blood,

there were still quite a few bloodstains on his body.

He had originally been planning to take a shower first after returning.

Yet at this moment, he could no longer smell that pungent stench of blood…

Even the wounds on his body had disappeared.

Of course, Yi Qingfeng could still feel a relative weakness in his body.

This was reflected in the percentage display for health on the Omninet panel:

63%?

Yi Qingfeng was thoughtful.

It was also when he had been in the instance earlier that, after opening the Omninet panel, he discovered some new things had appeared on it.

Among them, the one that interested him the most was:

Item Backpack?
