Chapter 25: Spiritual Power Testing

"Next — Jian Meng'er!"

As that stunningly beautiful girl in snow-white robes walked toward the high platform once more, the entire training ground fell silent yet again.

Jian Meng'er was still as coldly proud as ever. Even though she had been overshadowed by Jian Wushuang in the sword art demonstration just now, nothing could conceal her brilliance. After all, what truly defied the heavens, what left everyone in disbelief, was her cultivation talent.

Sixteen years old, and already at Great Completion of the Sea Transformation stage!

Such a thing had never appeared in the entire history of the Sword Marquis Manor. And this upcoming test was the perfect opportunity for her to display her peerless talent before everyone.

On the platform, Jian Meng'er slowly pressed her palm against the spiritual power crystal.

Everyone held their breath.

"Has she really reached Great Completion of Sea Transformation?"

The distinguished figures from the various powers in the stands all watched with rapt attention. Although they had already received word that Jian Meng'er had broken into Great Completion of Sea Transformation, that was merely hearsay. Now was the moment to see it with their own eyes.

Only by seeing it with their own eyes would they truly dare to believe.

On the spiritual power crystal, a dazzling purple light instantly surged upward. The crystal had ten tiers. The first through seventh tiers lit up without any suspense, almost instantly, followed immediately by the eighth tier.

The eighth tier of the spiritual power crystal represented the Lesser Completion of Sea Transformation stage. It lit up as well — and once again in a dazzling purple. Then that purple light continued to climb, climbing to the ninth tier...

The ninth tier of the spiritual power crystal lit up in this very moment — and its radiance was still incomparably dazzling!

One must know that each tier of the crystal represented a different level of cultivation, and the distinction lay in the intensity of the purple light's brilliance.

Take Jian Lin from earlier, for example. He had reached the seventh level of the Spirit Dao realm, lighting up the seventh tier of the crystal. But because he had only just broken through to the seventh level of Spirit Dao, the purple light on the seventh tier had been extremely dim.

But now, under Jian Meng'er's infusion of spiritual power, not only did the ninth tier light up, the light was dazzling to the extreme — clearly, the radiance had reached its absolute peak. What did this signify?

"The peak! The peak of Great Completion of Sea Transformation!"

"She's not someone who just broke into Great Completion of Sea Transformation — she's already at the very peak of it?"

The training ground erupted in an instant.

"Good! Good! Good!" In the stands, Jian Xinhong rose to his feet with a slap of his hand, his eyes brimming with intense excitement as he exclaimed "good" three times in a row.

"Haha!" Jian Lan, meanwhile, beamed with delight.

"Not only has she reached Great Completion of Sea Transformation, but its very peak?" The expressions of the others in the stands were equally extraordinary.

One must understand that within the same realm, there was an enormous difference between having just entered it and standing at its peak.

Take Great Completion of Sea Transformation, for instance. For an ordinary martial artist, going from just entering Great Completion of Sea Transformation to reaching its peak would require at least several years of spiritual power accumulation — or even longer. And Jian Meng'er was only sixteen this year!

Sixteen years old and reaching Great Completion of Sea Transformation had already left them in disbelief — and she had actually reached its peak as well?

Everyone's mind went blank.

"This Jian Meng'er..."

On the training ground, countless Sword Marquis Manor disciples gazed up at that unclimbably beautiful figure on the high platform. Aside from Jian Wushuang, no one harbored even the slightest thought of competing against her anymore.

A proud son of heaven's way!

A phoenix among men!

That was Jian Meng'er!

"Shui Hanxin, you've certainly taken on a fine disciple." Bai Chongwei narrowed his eyes slightly and spoke. "Great Completion of Sea Transformation at sixteen — her cultivation talent is extraordinary."

"Not bad, indeed." Shui Hanxin nodded with a smile. "This little girl's talent for cultivation is truly high. Even among the many genius disciples of my Tianyuan Sword Sect, she belongs to the very topmost group. Moreover, I will personally guide her from now on. Breaking into the Golden Core stage before the age of twenty should pose no problem. And if she works hard and her fortunes prove favorable, perhaps in the future my Tianyuan Sword Sect will produce yet another peak existence that dominates all directions!"

"A peak existence that dominates all directions?" Everyone around was stunned.

"Elder Shui, are you saying Jian Meng'er may one day reach the Yin-Yang Void realm?" Jian Xinhong asked, somewhat agitated.

That Jian Meng'er could break into the Golden Core stage before twenty — no one doubted this. But the Yin-Yang Void realm belonged to true peak existences! Even a powerful sect like the Tianyuan Sword Sect had only a handful of such people, and within Ba Water Commandery, there wasn't a single one!

Jian Meng'er had hope of reaching that level in the future?

"With Meng'er's talent, so long as she works hard, nothing is beyond her reach." Shui Hanxin said calmly.

Though her words were plain, the hearts of those in the stands could hardly settle back down.

On the platform, Jian Meng'er, gazed upon by all, had eyes that in this instant turned to lightning as she stared straight down at Jian Wushuang. "Jian Wushuang, I told you — in today's contest, I will make you fall into complete despair! In this lifetime, you will never be qualified to surpass me!"

"Do you see it now?"

With arms folded, leaning against the corner wall, Jian Wushuang raised his head, his gaze like lightning, colliding with Jian Meng'er's.

Though no words were exchanged, Jian Wushuang could clearly read the meaning in Jian Meng'er's eyes.

"Peak of Great Completion of Sea Transformation? Very good — that makes things far more interesting!" Jian Wushuang stuck out his tongue, licking his somewhat cracked lips. Deep within his pitch-black pupils, a blazing fire of battle burned.

The contest continued, but the spiritual power levels tested by the manor disciples who took the stage afterward, while decent for their age, were not even worth comparing to the brilliantly dazzling Jian Meng'er — not even worth the light of a firefly.

"The last one — Jian Wushuang. You're up!" Jian Lan said coldly.

Jian Wushuang, leaning against the corner, rolled his eyelids and slowly walked toward the platform.

His steps were slow, one after another, yet they drew in the gazes of everyone around him.

Everyone on the training ground watched him, and the distinguished figures in the stands all looked his way as well.

In this contest, the one who had most captured everyone's attention was, without a doubt, Jian Meng'er — and second to her was Jian Wushuang.

In the first round of martial technique demonstration, Jian Wushuang had shocked everyone by executing the eleventh strike of the Layered Wave Sword Art. Now, in this second round of spiritual power testing, although few held any expectations for his cultivation level, at the very least, no one dared to ignore him anymore.

"So he's up?"

Jian Meng'er, standing tall and conspicuous among the crowd, watched Jian Wushuang step onto the high platform one step at a time, the corner of her mouth curving up slightly. "A month ago, you reached the peak of the sixth level of Spirit Dao. Now that a month has passed, how much stronger can you have become?"

"Let me see for myself just how far you've gotten in these so-called two months."
