Chapter 19: 18. No Required Moves (Asking for monthly votes and follows)

Xu Shuiyun looked at Li Miaomiao again.

“First, I’ll praise you for coming straight to me when something like this happened.”

She said it was praise, but her expression was still stern.

Li Miaomiao couldn’t read her at all. She still lifted her chin, looking proud.

Zhang Luo thought, Idiot.

“However, Li Miaomiao, you need to think before you speak.” Xu Shuiyun asked, “Tell me first: did you truly feel that what Zhang Luo said was him being a creep, or did you feel that you couldn’t refute him and were embarrassed, so you lashed out in anger?”

Li Miaomiao was just about to open her mouth.

Xu Shuiyun added, “I said to think before you speak. Think it through before answering. Compared with students who are eloquent, I would rather my students be a little more honest.”

Li Miaomiao froze.

After two seconds, she said somewhat awkwardly, “A little of both, I guess.”

Xu Shuiyun nodded.

“You two, come back to class with me and apologize to each other in front of everyone.”

“Huh?” Li Miaomiao turned pale with shock.

Xu Shuiyun said, “You’re unwilling?”

Zhang Luo immediately nodded. “I’m willing!”

Li Miaomiao looked at Zhang Luo in disbelief.

Zhang Luo shrugged with an expression that said, What’s so hard about that?

Sure enough, Li Miaomiao was provoked again.

“Fine, I’ll apologize!”

-

Under Xu Shuiyun’s arrangement, Zhang Luo and Li Miaomiao stood on the podium and apologized to each other.

“Li Miaomiao, I’m sorry.”

“Zhang Luo, I’m sorry.”

Both of their apologies were dry and stiff.

Xu Shuiyun said, “You can’t just apologize without saying what you’re apologizing for.”

Zhang Luo said, “…I’m sorry, Li Miaomiao. I shouldn’t have deliberately needled you.”

Li Miaomiao’s face turned red.

It was still embarrassing.

“I’m sorry, Zhang Luo. I shouldn’t have… made a big deal out of nothing.”

Only then did Xu Shuiyun let them off and tell them to go back down.

“Although I had the two of them come up and apologize to each other, this is not a punishment.” She stepped onto the podium and looked at everyone below. “On the contrary, I want to praise them. After a conflict occurred, they came to me at the first opportunity, and they were able to reason things out properly. I hope the students in our class can all be like them.”

The bell for class rang.

The geography teacher arrived in the classroom right on the bell, only to see Xu Shuiyun standing on the podium. He froze.

“Did I remember the wrong class?”

Xu Shuiyun smiled and said, “It’s your class. I just said a few words to the children. I’m done now.”

-

At noon, in the cafeteria.

“The chicken drumsticks at lunch today are pretty good.” After Xu Da finished off one drumstick at lightning speed, he picked up his tray. “I’m going to buy another one.”

Zhou Hengyu watched eagerly and touched his own stomach.

“Forget it. I’ll hold back.”

Zhang Luo laughed. “I’ll hold back with you. But if you want to lose weight, why don’t you play soccer with us?”

“I don’t know how.” Zhou Hengyu shook his head. “I’ve never played before.”

Zhang Luo said, “Then learn a little. It’s not hard. Losing weight by eating less is way too challenging.”

“How do I learn?” Zhou Hengyu asked. “If I play too badly, won’t I get yelled at?”

Zhang Luo said, “It’s not like we’re playing a proper match. Whoever yells at you, just don’t join their game. We play for fun every day after school. Just join us.”

Zhou Hengyu said, “I—”

Zhang Luo said, “If you don’t want to, then forget it. Don’t force yourself.”

“It’s really fine even if I’m bad?”

“We’re just playing around. You just run after the ball. Run enough, and you’ll lose weight,” Zhang Luo said.

Although Zhou Hengyu did indeed slim down later, Zhang Luo remembered very clearly that this part had not existed for Zhou Hengyu back in high school. So his current method of losing weight by eating less had ultimately ended in failure.

The reason Zhang Luo kept thinking about this was that later, when Zhou Hengyu had asked him out for a meal in Yuming, he had mentioned that because he had been fat in high school, he had felt somewhat inferior.

Zhang Luo had been very surprised.

On one hand, in his previous life, he really had not been that close to Zhou Hengyu and did not understand him well, so he was surprised.

On the other hand, what surprised Zhang Luo was that Zhou Hengyu would actually feel inferior because he had once been fat.

Many people subconsciously felt that this kind of thing only happened to girls.

Later, Zhang Luo did see in some variety shows and interviews that many male celebrities had also felt inferior as children because they were fat. It was just that there had never really been any men around him who felt inferior because they were fat, so he more or less hadn’t believed it.

Until Zhou Hengyu said it.

Zhang Luo realized that some things had completely different meanings depending on whether they happened before or after adulthood.

He believed that at thirty, Zhou Hengyu probably would no longer feel inferior about gaining weight. At thirty, gaining weight would only start him down a road of no return where he worried about his health.

Zhang Luo had been like that back then.

His belly had started to show. He rarely exercised, worked overtime, stayed up late, and often worried that after some physical examination results came out, they would tell him his body was about to be scrapped.

He had only been thirty.

-

Xu Da came back with two chicken drumsticks.

“It’s such a shame you guys aren’t eating. It’s rare for the cafeteria chef to perform this well.”

Zhang Luo said, “You eat.”

Zhou Hengyu swallowed.

“Stop swallowing your saliva. Go get another one,” Zhang Luo said, wanting to laugh at the sight of him. “After school, come play soccer with us and you’ll digest it.”

Xu Da gave a surprised yo and asked, “You know how to play soccer too?”

Zhou Hengyu shook his head. “No.”

Xu Da said, “A newbie, huh? Fine. Your big brother here will show you the ropes.”

Zhang Luo said, “See? Both of us will help you. Stop struggling and go eat.”

Zhou Hengyu finally could not hold back. He grabbed his tray and went.

Zhang Luo smiled and shook his head.

-

After lunch, Zhang Luo did not return to the classroom with Zhou Hengyu and Xu Da. Instead, he went to the laboratory building.

At noon today, he had to complete the first photo shoot with the cosplay team.

They only had one hour.

Zhang Luo asked curiously, “Can we get it done?”

Mona said, “Yes.”

She was very confident in her own skills.

The clothes they had prepared for Zhang Luo had been bought by Chen Zhe.

A samurai outfit.

Mona had also somehow gotten him a wig that looked very much like Naruto’s hairstyle from Naruto.

In only half an hour, Mona finished styling him.

Because there was no full-length mirror here, Zhang Luo did not know what he looked like right now.

But everyone else said he was handsome, their eyes shining.

Liu Song was also in charge of being the photographer.

Of course, for this set in the classroom, he also needed to appear on camera, so he used a countdown timer to take the shots.

Zhang Luo asked him what pose he needed to strike and what expression he needed to make.

Yin Yueling said, “It’s your first shoot, so you might not be used to it. I suggest you try looking cool. Put both hands on the desk and keep a blank expression, or something like that. Let’s give it a try.”

This set of theirs was not actually cosplaying any particular animated work.

So there were no required moves to perform.

“This is only the preliminary selection. We’ll send the photos and videos over. After we make it into the finals, we’ll need to go to the venue and complete a performance in person. That’s the real focus,” Yin Yueling said.

Completed older work, well-reviewed and recommended~
