"What about that child?"
"I have returned her to the eastern tower where she was staying. What shall we do, Your Majesty?"
The attendant who had gone to fetch Rellia bowed his head before the Emperor and reported. Raidios narrowed his eyes and tapped the armrest of his chair with his fingertips.
"Keep her alive for now. She may prove useful again. Station soldiers at a distance where they won't be noticed, and report if anything unusual occurs."
"Understood, Your Majesty."
She was a child who could be killed at any time anyway. There might be occasions to use her as the Crown Prince's substitute again, so killing her off too easily would be a waste.
'Still, she is of imperial blood, so keeping her alive might have its uses.'
Or perhaps it would be good to have her continue standing in for the Crown Prince's official schedule until she grows a bit older.
For the past three years, Crown Prince Leo had remained safe under Raidios's protection.
Officially, everyone believed the Crown Prince had gone to the neutral zone, and there were no signs of information having leaked.
However, Raidios could not yet rest at ease.
'Why do I feel so uneasy...?'
His brother Perseus had certainly died, and his brother's two sons as well.
He had even killed Perseus's wife with his own hands. And the child she had carried in her womb had died the moment it was born.
They were all dead. He had killed them all, so why did he feel so unsettled?
He soon shook his head. It was a pointless worry. They were all dead and gone anyway.
Never to return.
