Episode 1 My World (1)

The world I live in had most of it

stolen away by monsters.

My twenties were entirely consumed

by fighting monsters.

I parted with my beloved,

and fell into a world that was the same, yet different.

But I have not given up yet.

[Today marks ten years since the aurora occurred. Well, I suppose it doesn't much matter if we say it's been ten years since the dimensional monsters invaded. Since the government bigwigs and our precious civilians are living well on Jeju Island, let us bullet sponges continue our happy day today as well. Now then, today's music.]

He smirked as he listened to the music flowing from the car radio.

That amazing military broadcast DJ was still holding on without getting fired.

He began listening to the music, feeling at leisure.

That was when.

Suddenly, static began mixing into the audio.

"Major!"

The woman sitting in the passenger seat listening to songs shouted toward him.

At her cry, the man lying in the shade of the car raised his body.

Nakdong River Defense 3rd Division, Awakened Strike Team 3, Team Leader Major Gang Yeonghun.

This was his rank and name.

He gazed intently at the Nakdong River stretching long below the hills.

The sky darkened.

Suddenly, the water flow in the middle of the river began to grow strange. The air grew heavy, and a peculiar sensation tickled his mind.

He rose from his spot. It was time to work.

He shouted toward the military jeep.

"Class C recon-type monster dimensional transfer! Prepare to move out!"

"Damn it, I thought we'd get some rest."

The man lying in the back seat of the jeep enjoying the spring sunlight grumbled as he rose. The car shook from his massive frame.

Yeonghun ignored his words, got into the driver's seat, and started the car.

At that moment, a signal tone rang from the radio. The division headquarters' communication, riddled with heavy static, was regarding the dimensional transfer.

"Yes, we're on our way. Over."

The female soldier sitting in the passenger seat answered, holding the radio. Her beautiful face showed no change in expression even while communicating.

The car sped toward the Nakdong River at full speed.
