[Chimera Potion - Dragonian][Legendary]
========================
The blood of a lesser dragon has been forcibly transcended, containing the power of a true dragon. However, as it was not granted the dragon’s permission, a backlash will occur within the body upon consumption.
Caution when consuming: high probability of death.
※ Temporary transcendence of species
※ Temporary ability to dominate the mana in the surrounding area
※ Temporary breakthrough of all stat limits
=========================
Sinhyeok let out a hollow laugh at its absurd performance. He also cursed the system that had given it to him.
“You knew, didn’t you? Ugh.”
Something burst with popping sounds around him, and a familiar presence was felt.
His hands trembled.
“I’ll drink it. I’ll drink it. Haa.”
He opened it immediately and poured it into his mouth.
“Khup, it tastes awful.”
Thump, thump.
His heart shook violently.
He felt his entire body creak and writhe.
“Ah, aaaaagh!”
Unbearable pain seized his whole body.
Then scales began to sprout all over him.
[You have consumed the Dragonian Potion.]
[A forced transcendence of species is occurring.]
[You have reached temporary transcendence.]
[The time you can use the dragon’s power through transcendence is 30 seconds.]
[After 30 seconds, the user will die.]
He felt a free and intense current of power he had never experienced before coursing through his entire body.
Wings he had never felt before flapped. With a clear mind, he rose into the air.
[The power of transcendence will disappear in 25 seconds.]
‘The power of a dragon.’
It was overwhelming.
Everything around him seemed like tiny ants.
The moment he thought, familiar crystals appeared, one after another.
They began to rotate on their own, then poured down toward the ground.
‘I can feel it.’
He could feel an overwhelming distance in its entirety.
‘Two, no, three.’
There were three more hidden gates.
When he stretched out his hand, the crystals took shape and struck down the monsters pouring out.
Kaaaaak!
The screams of monsters rang throughout the area.
‘What I can do!’
The power of transcendence kept instinctively telling him what he could do.
Clench.
When he clenched his hand tightly, the earth rose up around the area where the monsters were and sealed them in.
[5 seconds remaining.]
Tap.
His hand opened, and a dome formed, blocking the monsters.
[1 second remaining.]
Sinhyeok floated in the sky and looked beyond the dome, toward the place where Lieutenant I Hyeongchan was.
‘They’re safe.’
He had perfectly separated the people from the monsters.
“I saved them.”
[The power of transcendence is disappearing.]
[The dragon’s wrath descends.]
[Backlash is beginning.]
His strength vanished.
The scales disappeared, and he dropped just like that.
‘Aah.’
He stared blankly up at the sky.
“They’re late. Those reinforcements.”
Whoooong.
His body drew endlessly closer to the ground.
Boom!
An impact rang out.
But it was not Sinhyeok’s.
The dome was pierced, and someone was descending through the air.
He quietly looked at Sinhyeok and stretched out his hand.
Tap!
Sinhyeok stopped in midair.
The man swept his gaze over the surroundings.
“I offer my respect to you. Leave the rest to me.”
After offering his respect to Sinhyeok, the look in his eyes changed.
“Gather, you worthless insects.”
Clad in a splendid robe, he took a potion from his pocket and dropped it.
The moment it fell to the ground and shattered, an anomaly occurred. The monsters in the area reacted immediately.
Kyaaaaak!
Every kind of monster rushed toward the place where the wide-area taunt potion had shattered.
“You gather so well. Worthless vermin.”
Once they had gathered to a certain extent, he opened his pocket and pointed it toward the ground.
Dozens of potions spilled out in a stream.
“Burst and die.”
When the potions shattered, an overwhelming explosion shook the entire area.
As a result, the dome was forcibly destroyed.
“Hmm.”
He watched the explosion for a moment.
Once the explosion had subsided to some degree, he checked on the Sinhyeok he had saved.
“He’s dying.”
Seeing the few scale fragments remaining on his skin, he clicked his tongue.
“Traces of a dragon. He drank a chimera potion.”
He carried him as he was and headed toward the unit waiting in the rear.
When he appeared in the air, everyone tensed sharply.
But Lieutenant I Hyeongchan raised his hand high and shouted.
“Sinhyeok? Hold! He’s an ally!”
The robed man landed on the ground with Sinhyeok.
“Good to meet you. I am Lucien Farrell of the Yggdrasil Alliance. I came in haste to assist you.”
Lieutenant I Hyeongchan greeted him awkwardly, then went to Sinhyeok, who was lying neatly on the ground.
“That soldier is...”
“Ah, this extraordinary alchemist sacrificed himself. He used the power of a dragon with a human body. He likely will not survive.”
Lucien Farrell handed Sinhyeok to I Hyeongchan as he spoke.
“It is regrettable for a talent possessing such astonishing alchemy to die, but there seems to be no helping it. Please contact this man’s family.”
Lieutenant I Hyeongchan received Sinhyeok with trembling hands.
“Damn it...”
He had only seen him briefly, but he was someone who had left him with so many impressions and so much courage.
“This shitty world, why...”
* * *
He came to his senses in a space where nothing could be seen.
‘Am I dead?’
He wondered if he had finally died.
“Are they going to send me to heaven or something?”
The sound popped out.
Sinhyeok checked his own body.
“They could’ve at least put clothes on me.”
He was naked.
Wondering if it was really his body, he gave his hips a little shake, and his flesh dangled.
“It really is my body.”
Wiggle, wiggle.
A body identical to his real flesh.
He was about to thrust his hips with even more enthusiasm, but held back.
“I’m dead... right?”
For some reason, it didn’t quite feel like the afterlife.
As proof, his vision gradually became clearer.
Something began to come into view, albeit faintly.
‘Hmm.’
He walked toward what he could see ahead.
After walking for quite a while, the blur became clear.
He saw a wide plain and, far in the distance, a small city.
‘There’s something there.’
He walked endlessly toward that place he could see.
After walking for a long time, he stopped.
“Why is it the same?”
No matter how much he walked, it did not get any closer.
He plopped down on the ground and watched for a while.
‘What kind of village is like a mirage?’
“Should I just sleep here?”
He flopped backward.
“What’s there to worry about when no one’s watching? I’m dead anyway.”
He rolled onto his side.
He had turned over with the thought of looking at another scenery, but saw something strange.
A short-haired woman wearing black martial robes was staring at him.
“Mm?”
“Young hero, even if you are a soul, you are far too exposed.”
Blink, blink.
Sinhyeok raised his hand and slapped his own cheek.
Smack!
‘It hurts.’
“Souls feel pain too.”
At her voice, which rang out clearly and was full of laughter, he immediately turned over to face away.
“Khup.”
She forced herself to hold back laughter and said,
“Where is the dragon that was to guide you? Usually, one does not enter alone.”
“Is, is that so? I thought I was dead.”
She approached Sinhyeok, who was desperately covering himself, and dropped her outer garment.
“Try to cover yourself a little with that.”
Sinhyeok fumbled and covered the important parts. When he cautiously got up, she was wearing a mocking smile.
“It has been a while since I saw something so amusing.”
“Ah, yes...”
Sinhyeok’s face flushed slightly.
At her continued casual speech, Sinhyeok turned only his head and said,
“You look really young, so why are you speaking down to me?”
“I stopped counting the years after a thousand had passed. Are you older than I am?”
At the words that she was over a thousand years old despite her extremely young appearance, he immediately shut his mouth.
“I’m sorry. You look so young.”
She said with a smile,
“I understand. Everyone is like this here. More importantly, if you came alone, I shall at least guide you to the village.”
He followed behind her, walking step by step.
Without looking back, she said,
“Where did you come from?”
“Mm, should I say Earth?”
When she heard the word Earth, she immediately mentioned a certain country.
“South Korea?”
“Huh? Yes, yes! Is there someone else from there here?”
When she immediately mentioned South Korea, Sinhyeok asked excitedly.
“No. Not anymore.”
“Ah.”
His interest plummeted, and his hope vanished with it.
“If you have no guide, then everything must be unfamiliar, so I will explain.”
“Yes.”
She moved toward the village and explained.
“This place is the resting place of dragons. We call it many things—the Dragon Soul Corridor, Dragon World, and so on.”
She pointed to the village ahead.
“Do you see the buildings built slightly apart from the village over there?”
His gaze followed her finger.
He looked at the various buildings constructed separately around the city.
“Those are lairs, so be careful. Dragons will not touch you first, but if you carelessly approach without reason, you will be annihilated on the spot.”
Sinhyeok took the warning to heart.
“And those who live in that village are the same as us.”
At the word “same,” curiosity welled up in Sinhyeok.
“Are they all dead?”
“No. They are all training to be reborn as dragonkin. Are you not the same?”
She turned around.
Startled by her sudden action, Sinhyeok gripped the outer garment even more tightly.
“Dragonian?”
“You must have taken the power of a dragon.”
“Ah.”
At her words, he understood at once.
‘Dragonian.’
She pointed to the village entrance.
“You may enter. Everything is free, so use it as you wish.”
Seeing her leave after taking him only to the entrance, Sinhyeok shouted,
“What is your name?!”
“Call me Dark Sword.”
As he watched her leave alone and aloof, he spoke as well.
“I’m! Bu Sinhyeok!”
At the name “Bu Sinhyeok,” she stopped for a moment.
As if someone had come to mind, she turned back briefly and looked at his face.
“Hmm. Has that much time passed? When that fellow mentioned you, you were a little child.”
From far away, Sinhyeok looked puzzledly at her as she stared intently at his face for a moment.
“Very well. Do your best.”
Dark Sword soon turned around and disappeared.
“She’s really cool.”
Sinhyeok wrapped the clothing properly around himself and walked to the entrance.
When he approached, a goblin wearing gold-rimmed glasses was standing there.
“Mm? Did you walk here from over there?”
“Ah? Yes.”
“Oho, you were lucky to meet Lady Dark Sword. Please tell me only your name. I’ll record it.”
The goblin took out a piece of parchment and held it out.
Sinhyeok wrote his name with a pen dipped in blue ink.
‘Bu Sinhyeok.’
“You may freely use all facilities in the village. And it’s first come, first served. If you’re curious about what there is, visit the information desk in the central plaza.”
Sinhyeok felt strange, as if he were in some kind of tutorial village.
“It really feels like a game. Am I supposed to start something here?”
As he walked forward, the goblin gave him one warning.
“Oh, right. Don’t go carelessly into the Land of the Lost over there. If you’re unlucky, the madmen will strip you clean.”
Sinhyeok looked at the land he had walked from.
“Over there?”
The goblin smiled and nodded.
“Yes, the Lost wander around there. If you run into the wrong one, you’ll be done for, so please be truly careful.”
“Ah, yes.”
Honestly, he had no idea what that meant.
For now, he slowly walked around the village and looked around.
Then, when he saw a clothing store, he went straight inside.
“Excuse me?”
Inside, instead of a person, a robot made of metal greeted him.
“Welcome. Do you need shoes and clothing?”
“Ah, yes.”
The robot brought over a clothes rack and pointed.
“Martial robes, formalwear. We have everything prepared by various cultures.”
Looking at it, there were no tracksuits or anything like what he usually wore.
“Just give me those martial robes. And shoes too, plus underwear.”
The robot nodded and prepared all the clothes he requested.
After putting on the prepared clothes, he came outside.
“There are people here, at least.”
In the village, people could be seen passing by intermittently.
All of them stared intently at Sinhyeok.
“A newcomer.”
“How long has it been?”
“Right, it’s about time everything seems fascinating.”
Each of them added a word as they passed by.
‘No, if you’re going to talk, at least tell me something.’
“Why won’t they talk to me? I want to ask naturally.”
As he walked, he arrived at the central plaza.
There, a small booth stood firmly in place.
When he approached, a robot smoothly held out a guidebook.
“This is a guidebook. Please read it.”
“Uh, thanks.”
When he opened it, it really did resemble a tutorial village in a game.
‘Lodging, training grounds, hunting grounds, and so on.’
There were a lot of things.
“Haa, so what exactly am I supposed to do here?”
Thinking the robot might know, he asked.
“Excuse me, Mr. Robot?”
“Yes, please speak.”
“What am I supposed to do here?”
The robot gazed at him and answered as if it were obvious.
“Training. Through it, you must become a complete Dragonian.”
Sinhyeok chuckled and asked again.
“What if I don’t want to?”
The robot answered calmly.
“You die. All souls in this place possess a limited lifespan, so if you do not transcend, you will disappear.”
