Chapter 1

Six Months Later, a Maid's Inner Thoughts

2 min read381 words

Years ago, the day Master returned holding a scruffy little human girl in his arms.

At that time, none of us, including myself, knew that child would come to be called Madam.

Of course, it wasn't that the young Madam had any shortcomings. On the contrary, even without adornment, her looks guaranteed a dazzling future, and the way she squirmed and greeted me remains so unforgettable that she was simply adorable.

It was perfectly understandable why Master had picked her up out of the blue.

After that, so many things happened.

Our Madam is... well, a bit dense.

Anyone could see she was brought here to be raised so he could promptly devour her and make her his wife.

Yet she would ask when she was supposed to start working.

Or whether she should call him Master too.

One day, there she was, peeling potatoes in the kitchen.

She trailed after the Great Madam, who used to nag her relentlessly and act venomously toward her simply for being human, and completely won her over.

Later, she left a single note saying she didn't belong in a place like this and ran away in the dead of night.

She snuggled into his arms, bawling her eyes out, saying she had been a man in her previous life and didn't know if it was right to feel this way.

So many things happened. Even so, the two of them properly confirmed each other's feelings, and it wasn't long until their engagement.

Yet now she's even lost her memories. Truly... Master walks a treacherous road to marriage.

As for me, I didn't mind. Her having returned to her young miss days with a body that became more fox-like than an actual fox felt like looking back on old memories, so I rather liked it, but...

Even so...

[This does not seem to be a place I dare covet. Thank you for the past half year.]

Did she have to go and do something like this again?

Madam.

"My child!!!"

"It must be that damned yellow mutt who kidnapped her. She would never leave me again!"

Master and the Great Madam have completely lost their minds, haven't they.

I don't know.

Who said you could lose your memory and run away after just six months?
