[Munch munch...]
Debonair’s mealtime was fairly quiet, just as lunch had been.
[Seoyoon: U-ah, you did a great job (with the meat), huh?]
[U-ah: Eat this. The seasoning’s better on it.]
It was even heartwarming.
[Dohee: You made the kimchi stew really well. It’s seriously delicious.]
[Chiyo: (Proud)]
─Why are you the one looking proud as hell? LOL
─It’s even funnier how Naeun just keeps eating silently while they’re doing that beside her LOL
Dinner passed without incident.
The screen flashed white, and a subtitle was typed out.
Back at the living-room table.
The food that had been scattered messily was gone.
─Should we just have a house party?
─The kids look like they’d be good at games too LOL
Various drinks and snacks had been set out.
Of course, there was also U-ah’s Gosam tea.
[U-ah: Right away?]
[Naeun: I’m fine with it.]
But they did not start right away.
[Dohee: Digestion.]
[Chiyo: Me too.]
Having spent a long time dieting, the members’ stomachs had shrunk, so digestion took quite a while.
[Seoyoon: Let’s watch TV.]
[Naeun: Wha... Don’t we have to do something?]
[Seoyoon: No, they’re just filming us sitting around like this.]
[Production Staff: (...They are?)]
And so, all the members settled comfortably around the sofa.
─I’ve never seen a variety show where they just watch TV before LOL
But there was always plenty of material to mine for airtime with these girls.
Dohee, who had been changing channels, seemed to like the current one. She set down the remote and naturally propped her chin on her hand.
[Dohee: Hmm...]
─LOL Their eyes are going to fall out. What are they watching?
The camera panned over with a classical violin playing in the background. And the channel displayed on the TV was!
[As you can see! This is hard to grab, too, because it clings on very snugly. Just look at that elasticity!]
─Why are twenty-year-old girls watching this? LOL
─Info) Dohee, who picked this channel, is a bright-eyed eighteen-year-old high schooler LOL
But they were taking it quite seriously.
[Seoyoon (gullible): ...It’s not bad, is it?]
[Chiyo: If it’s made in Korea and costs 79,900 won.]
[Naeun: Made in Korea? That’s Japanese... Ah.]
─I was wondering what it was when she said it was made in Korea as hell LOL
└Ah, I fell for it too LOL
[U-ah: But that really does look elastic...? It won’t tear.]
[Seoyoon (gullible): Hey, they even give you two extra when you buy five!]
[Chiyo (patriotic saleswoman): If you buy now, it’s five months interest-free?]
[Seoyoon: They say you don’t even have to choose a color...!]
─I can’t with these girls LOL
Dohee had been quietly listening to all the countless reasons they absolutely had to buy it. Then she rolled her clear yet slightly crazed eyes and grinned.
[Dohee: Then... how about rock-paper-scissors, and the loser orders the winner a pair...?]
─What kind of bet are they making this time? LOL
─They really love making bets LOL
The members raised their fists toward Dohee.
Naturally, it was their way of saying they were ready to play rock-paper-scissors right then and there.
[Dohee: Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!]
But whether it was online games, board games, or just games in general—
[Seoyoon: Wait, a different game.]
Seoyoon, the queen of fun who loved playing, naturally refused to settle for something as simple as rock-paper-scissors.
After much deliberation, they settled on a roulette.
[Naeun: We draw from first place down, right?]
A moment later, a bottle of soda began spinning in the center of the members seated in a circle.
As the bottle passed over each member’s beautiful, crazed face, all eyes fixed on the roulette, it finally stopped on...!
[Dohee: That’s it!!!]
─Why does Dohee look happier than when she won first place on a music show...?
─Anyone would think she’d just won the World Cup LOL
[Naeun: But Dohee, you don’t really wear stockings, do you...?
[Dohee: Yes!!! That’s the one!!!]
The roulette began spinning once more, this time to choose the loser who would gift Dohee seven pairs of high-end stockings.
[Seoyoon: Please, just don’t let it be me...]
[U-ah: (Likewise)]
[Chiyo: I beseech you...]
[Naeun: Hng...]
The members joined hands and prayed together with the person beside them, each one desperate to avoid the result.
Dohee merely took a step back and watched the lambs’ prayers with satisfaction.
And then the result was announced.
[Seoyoon: Oh! If it’s like this, then...?]
Amazement, cheers, joy, laughter, and a standing ovation.
At the center stood the protagonist of this dramatic tale.
[Dohee: ......]
─Ah, she really is Variety God Do Ra-hee LOL
─Dohui’s money, Dohui’s purchase LOL
─Lately, I’ve been seeing Dohui wearing stockings a lot on the way to music-show appearances for some reason LOL
[Seoyoon: Ah, Dohee is seriously on another level today... I’m so jealous, I’m jealous. (Trying not to laugh)]
[Chiyo: Exactly... (Genuinely jealous)]
And so, Dohee had no choice but to scan the home-shopping QR code with an expressionless face.
She looked like she was about to cry.
* * *
[Seoyoon: Shall we quickly set the rules and start? Since forced reactions are banned today, from now on, if you laugh, you just drink. Okay?]
At long last, after an endless wait, the Debonair Gosam Tea game began.
[U-ah: I feel like I’m going to laugh just looking at Dohee’s face right now. Seriously.]
[Seoyoon: Okay, pass!]
─Dohee, relax your face LOL
─Why is her grumpy face so cute too? ㅠㅠ
The first Gosam Tea game was the most basic of the basics.
The perfectly ordinary Bunny Bunny game.
[Dohee: But it feels like we only ever play this. Is this the only game you know?]
[Seoyoon: (Startled) Then how about the finger-folding game?]
─LOL She got caught.
Still, this was good news for Dohee and Seoyoon. Whenever they went on variety shows, they always ended up playing the Bunny Bunny game—the same game they had played endlessly among the members back in their Seven days.
[Naeun: Couldn’t we start with a practice round first...?]
For a moment, there was the illusion that the only ones at a disadvantage were the other three.
[Chiyo: Lee Dohee, carrot...! She didn’t do the carrot!]
[Dohee: Huh...? Me? Ah, no, I did it!]
─Except for Seoyoon, they’re all just terrible at this LOL
─Wait, was Dohee always this bad? She wasn’t... right?
─They’re so good at variety that I’d forgotten they were rookies LOL But Dohee is surprisingly bad at games too.
└I only became a fan this time, and that surprised me too LOL
Nevertheless, after several practice rounds, several members grew confident.
[Naeun: Huh? Why am I good at this?]
Just before the real game began, Chiyo and U-ah briefly exchanged glances.
As it turned out, their eyes were both pointed squarely at Dohee, who was abysmal at games.
It was a strategy to avoid Naeun, who was surprisingly good, and the unshakable powerhouse Kim Seoyoon.
[Seoyoon: What does Lee Dohee, descended from heaven, say?!]
─Rabbit = Lee Dohee LOL
And with Seoyoon’s shout-out, the game began. Chiyo, who had the first turn, immediately pointed at Dohee.
[Chiyo: Bunny Bunny, Bunny Bunny.]
[Dohee: Ca...rrot, car...rot?]
But something was strange. She seemed about to get it wrong, yet somehow kept the rhythm. Even when U-ah joined in, Dohee got through it with more ease than expected.
─Dohee’s rabbit appeal is insane.
─Uh, why does the corner of Dohee’s mouth keep twitching upward?
Only after U-ah finally made a mistake did the corners of Dohee’s mouth slowly curl up, and she burst into hearty laughter.
[Dohee: I’m dying, I’m dying! (Laughing uproariously)]
[Seoyoon: Wow, Lee Dohee is ruthless. Absolutely ruthless.]
In fact, the hardcore fans who knew Dohee’s gaming skills—including Seoyoon—couldn’t possibly have been fooled. Dohee’s bumbling during the practice game had been a deliberate act.
[U-ah: (Dumbfounded) Was I tricked?]
[Dohee: Oh dear, I’m dying! I’m dying! (Roaring with laughter)]
─She really is Do Ra-hee LOL
* * *
At last, the first tasting session of Gosam Tea began.
[Seoyoon: They say alcohol is bitter and this is bitter too, so it’ll put you in a good mood, right?]
[U-ah: Yeah.]
With a lively BGM playing, the beaming Seoyoon tilted a bottle full of Gosam tea.
But the BGM abruptly cut off along with the sound of Seoyoon clicking her tongue.
[Seoyoon: Ah, seriously—Naeun.]
[Naeun: Hmm?]
Seoyoon spoke, then maintained three seconds of silence before turning around and lightly tapping Lee Dohee, who had been beside her from the start.
[Seoyoon: Ah, seriously—Lee Dohee.]
[Seoyoon: Aren’t you teaching your older sister properly?]
[Dohee: Teaching her what?]
[Seoyoon (Confucian girl): Your older sister is pouring you a drink, and you’re receiving it with one hand.]
[Naeun: Huh...? Seoyoon?]
─LOL Why did Kim Seoyoon suddenly start getting mad at Naeun and then stop?
─Confucianism issue LOL
─What does “teach your older sister” even mean? LOL
But before Seoyoon could make light of the Gen Z energy she had briefly displayed toward Naeun, U-ah lifted her glass and replied in a dry voice.
[U-ah (Gen Z): Huh? Didn’t unnie pour it with one hand first?]
Another three seconds of silence passed.
─Damn, U-ah was so confident that I got confused for a second too LOL
─What is this Gen Z energy from U-ah? LOL
[Seoyoon: (Dumbfounded) Then I’ll pour with one hand if that’s what you want!]
Seoyoon stood up, bent at the waist, and poured the alcohol (Gosam tea) into U-ah’s glass.
[Seoyoon: Oh, my dear little sister! Oh, dear, oh dear. Is this how you want me to do it?!]
Regardless, U-ah winked at Seoyoon, lightly blew a kiss toward the “alcohol” glass, and picked up the glass filled with Gosam tea.
[U-ah: Ah, for the next game, I want to do an informal-speech round instead of Bunny Bunny~]
[Seoyoon: (Speechless)]
─Ah, U-ah’s energy today is on another level compared to anything we’ve seen before LOL
─It’s like watching a true introvert forcibly get hyped at a drinking party LOL
└But seriously, with the insane energy of everyone around her, there’s no way she couldn’t get hyped LOL
And so, U-ah, riding high, downed a glass of Gosam tea.
Young, cool, and stylish, just as her concept demanded—
[U-ah: Aaaagh!!! It tastes like wo, worms in tea!]
The flavor shattered her concept in an instant.
