[Perfect Body Medicine ver.1]

[Required Materials]

- Heart of a mythical creature

- Bone of a mythical creature

- Flesh of a mythical creature

- Fragment of the world

- Water from the abyssal river

[Required Tools]

- Emerald Cauldron

- Pure Flame

“………Excuse me?”

The ingredients are… what…?

A mythical creature? A fragment of the world? Water from the abyssal river?

No, more importantly.

Things like that actually exist in this world?

“…This is driving me crazy.”

Could it be that things like that exist on the highest floors of the Tower?

Somehow… I feel like I’ve learned something I shouldn’t have.

“I’m pretty sure this is because of the word ‘perfect’….”

That wasn’t the kind of perfect I wanted.

All I wanted was a perfect body befitting a handsome face.

I never had the slightest desire to become some kind of being that far transcends humanity!

“…All right. Let’s pretend I never saw this.”

From now on, I’d be extra careful about what I entered whenever I transmuted something.

And I decided to bury this memory deep in my heart.

Sometimes, there were truths in this world that did you no good to know.

And from where I stood, this was one of those times.

“All right! Shall we move on to the next one?”

And so, desperately pretending I hadn’t seen it,

I moved on to the next recipe.

[Perfect Body Medicine ver.2]

[Required Materials]

- Dragon’s heart

- Dragon’s bone

- Dragon’s flesh

- Soil of the World Tree

- Water from Mimir’s Spring

[Required Tools]

- Emerald Cauldron

- Pure Flame

“Yeah… honestly, dragon, you’re better than that….”

I wasn’t sure if it was right for someone like me, who hadn’t even climbed the first floor of the Tower yet, to say that.

But dragons were much better than those mythical creatures I couldn’t even begin to imagine.

Because compared to some unknown thing that had never been observed,

the strongest existing monster with recorded subjugations was the better option.

“Well, I still can’t make this one either.”

Leaving behind the dragon, for whom I’d developed a strange sense of intimacy,

I moved on to the next recipe.

[Perfect Body Medicine ver.3]

[Required Materials]

- Heart of a humanoid monster

- Bone of a humanoid monster

- Flesh of a humanoid monster

- Mana-rich soil

- Mana-rich water

[Required Tools]

- Emerald Cauldron

- Pure Flame

“A humanoid monster, huh…?”

Hmm… this much might be doable, maybe?

Even goblins, if you got technical about it, fell under the classification of humanoid monsters.

And even if not goblins, I’d heard there were quite a few monsters in the Tower that resembled humans.

Compared to the previous materials, this seemed like something I could realistically try to obtain.

“The problem is where I’m supposed to get it….”

Naturally, going into the Tower and getting it myself was impossible.

But if I tried to buy it, there was no way someone like me, who had lived an ordinary life until now, would know any route for that……

“…Ah? Come to think of it, didn’t they say the Gallery has a marketplace function?”

I definitely remembered seeing that in one of Dr. Knows-the-Tower’s posts.

To check, I picked up my phone and accessed the Gallery.

Then I found the three-line menu bar in the upper right corner and tapped it.

A list of menus appeared, and among them I found the [Marketplace] option, so I selected it.

[This function requires Climber verification.]

[Would you like to proceed with Climber verification?]

[Yes][No]

“Ah, right. They said you had to verify.”

I wasn’t sure what they wanted me to verify or how,

but I tapped [Yes] and waited.

[Verifying…….]

.

.

.

.

[……Verification complete.]

[Gallery Card issuance complete.]

[Name]: [Iroun] [Job-Hunting Villain☑]﹝Private﹞

[Class] : [Alchemist]﹝Private﹞

[Skills] : [Transmutation(EX)] and 2 others…﹝Private﹞

[Trait] : [Handsome Man(B+)] ﹝Private﹞

◈──────────────────◈

[Climber Iroun(Job-Hunting Villain)’s verification has been completed.]

[From now on, you may freely use all functions of the Gallery.]

I had no idea by what principle it had figured out my status window,

but the Gallery automatically completed my Climber verification.

And along with issuing a Gallery Card, it unlocked the Gallery’s functions for me.

“This Gallery is pretty suspicious too, when you think about it….”

Considering it clearly appeared together with the Tower, the two seemed to be connected.

But I really had to wonder why it had taken the form of a Gallery of all things.

“Well, whatever.”

That wasn’t what mattered right now.

I pushed my curiosity about the Gallery aside for the moment,

tapped the Marketplace option, and entered the marketplace.

Then I typed [humanoid monster] into the search bar at the top.

Starting from relatively cheap monster materials like goblins, kobolds, and orcs,

expensive monster materials like ogres, doppelgangers, and vampires appeared one after another.

“Wow… why are the prices so brutal…?”

Common monsters like goblins and kobolds were in the tens of thousands of won,

but powerful and rare specimens like ogres and vampires easily went over a hundred million.

“Let’s see… the money in my bank account right now is roughly 1.2 million won….”

Assuming I bought materials with the money I had,

no matter how generously I looked at it, weren’t goblins or kobolds my only options?

“Hmm… making medicine with goblin or kobold materials is a bit….”

No matter what, this was medicine I was making to change my own body.

I didn’t think using materials like goblins or kobolds for that was right.

“Ah, I’m itching to transmute something.”

If I had my way, I’d use my Transmutation skill to make hair-loss cures or recovery potions and print money.

But no matter how I looked at it, my skill [Transmutation(EX)] was an ability outside the norm.

The fact that I’d picked up materials from the roadside, clicked transmute, and out came a “Medicine That Makes You Handsome(B+)” said it all.

So what would happen if I used a skill like this to seriously make elixirs or potions and put them on the marketplace?

“Men in black suits would immediately come find me and drag me away.”

Even if the Gallery system had a ﹝Private﹞ function, I’d probably be found out.

The moment I listed an item on the marketplace, it would be the same as confessing that I existed somewhere in Korea.

I didn’t know by what method they’d track me down.

But if they combed through this cramped land of Korea thoroughly enough, I’d eventually be caught.

And once I was caught, I’d probably be dragged off to some underground labor camp managed by some big shot and worked like a slave for the rest of my life making elixirs and potions….

“…Yeah, I should restrain myself from making and selling them directly.”

Of course, it wasn’t as if I’d never make them for the rest of my life.

It was just that I still knew absolutely nothing about this Climber industry.

So until I had a way to protect myself,

or trustworthy backing,

I thought it was right to lay low for a while.

“Haa… Being too talented is a problem too.”

Wow, I might have sounded pretty obnoxious just now.

But what can I do? The world made me this way.

Anyway.

Then, after going around in circles, it ultimately meant

I had to squeeze out maximum efficiency with the money I currently had.

Even so, 1.2 million won was way too little. Wasn’t there some other way?

“Hmm… would something come up if I searched the Gallery?”

With the mindset of grasping at straws,

I searched [Alchemist] in the Gallery search bar

and tapped the post that stood out the most.

[Title: Why the Alchemist Class Is Fucking Garbage]

[National Pension Alchemist☑]

(Image of an insanely pissed-off frog crying tears of blood)

Are they good at climbing the Tower? ➝ Garbage class that can’t solo.

Are they an irreplaceable class? ➝ Healers & buffers are 100 billion times more useful.

Is the class difficulty low? ➝ You have to grind botched recipe ratios down to the milligram.

Do they make good money? ➝ The cost-effectiveness is fucked, so unless it’s made on commission, it’s a loss.

Then what’s good about them? ➝ Nothing, you fu123cker, just don’t do it.

[What’s the point of buying expensive materials when you throw most of them on the floor lol]

ㄴ[Maybe you should just give those materials to a blacksmith?]

ㄴ[Fact) True.]

[Ahh… simply JOAT]

ㄴ[It’s because trash like you exists that other classes shine, right?]

ㄴ[National Pension Alchemist☑: You fucking bitch.]

[This is a non-combat class! ~Despair Edition: Alchemist~]

ㄴ[This is a non-combat class! ~Hope Edition: Every Other Class~]

ㄴ[National Pension Alchemist☑: …I hate myself for not being able to say that’s wrong.]

[If you’re going to awaken as an Alchemist, maybe it’s better not to awaken at all?]

ㄴ[Still, you’re good at making potions~ Have a drink~!]

ㄴ[National Pension Alchemist☑: These days, the request board is all mid- to high-grade potions… I can barely make mid-grade… ㅜㅜ]

ㄴ[Oh dear… I see… You’re noisy, so go cry outside…]

ㄴ[National Pension Alchemist☑: Hey, where do you live?]

Ah~ I understood perfectly.

“So Alchemists aren’t treated very well?”

From the looks of it, the difficulty was disgustingly high, but it didn’t even cover labor costs, let alone material costs.

Sure, in my case, my skill gave me the recipe and handled all the cooking and stirring on its own, so there was nothing difficult about it.

But having to do that entire process from start to finish without even a milligram of error?

“I’d quit being an Alchemist immediately and start preparing for employment.”

Was that something a human being was supposed to do?

Even if someone offered me billions, I would never do such a stressful job.

“I’m really glad my skill grade is high.”

Anyway.

That aside.

“So there’s a request board in the Gallery?”

Looking at the comment just now, it seemed like there was a separate request board.

Could I perhaps earn the money I was lacking there?
