Episode 2
The max-level priest sidestepped to avoid my charge, but I had predicted that and landed a stun before he could use his evasive skill again. Then, while he was stunned and unable to use skills, I smacked the lowest-level priest a few times and killed him first. As for the warrior, he was in a defensive stance, so he could hold out to a certain extent despite the gear difference; I didn’t bother killing him and just left him alone. No matter how desperately he gritted his teeth and poured out skills with that raggedy axe of his, my HP wouldn’t even notice. And even his one mildly annoying stun skill could simply be blocked if I watched the motion.
Next was… by order, it should have been Jaesugang’s turn to die, but I wanted to save Jaesugang for dessert, so I revised my priority to the max-level priest. Seeing as he was holding a staff, he was in an offensive stance, a DPS position, so killing him wouldn’t take as long as a tank or healer.
Most importantly, judging by the damage that went in when I stunned and attacked him briefly earlier, he absolutely wasn’t someone with good gear, and the way he reacted didn’t make him seem like someone who had done much PvP.
Against kids like this, taking a few attacks wouldn’t put my life in danger, so I saved valuable skills like status effects or defensive skills and started by slamming in attack skills. Since the priest was, in his own way, a magic-using class, he did put distance between us with skills like teleportation, but I was used to that and closed the gap again with a skill that captured and pulled the opponent in, followed by a charge.
Even as I carried out a conflict that was closer to one-sided beating than a fight, I kept turning the camera several times, mindful of whether Jaesugang might run away. Standing a little ways off, Jaesugang didn’t particularly seem inclined to flee.
On the contrary, perhaps he couldn’t just watch a member of the same race get beaten, because he used a DoT skill on me. But how much could an attack from a level 44 newbie wearing ordinary shop gear and low-level dungeon gear possibly hurt? It was just cute.
The HP the two newbies shaved off was restored with a single potion. Seeing that, Jaesugang stopped dead, pondered for a moment, then changed his mind and poured heals into the max-level priest. It was very commendable that he quickly realized his damage was completely useless. Of course, that didn’t mean healing would change anything either.
In the meantime, the priest’s movement skill cooldown seemed to have come back up, because he put distance between us again. This time, he bound me with a restraint skill that had a short casting (*the preparation stage required to activate a skill; usually, being hit or moving cancels the skill activation) time and began casting an attack skill. It was the wind-up skill for the highest-damage attack among the Priest Destroyer’s skills.
Since he was openly using a wind-up skill without putting enough distance between us, I wondered for a very brief moment whether he was trying to play mind games with me. But he didn’t look like someone good enough at PvP to use such a technique, and more than anything, even if he did try to play mind games like that, there was nothing he could do afterward. So I immediately dropped my guard and used the capture skill that pulled the opponent in.
As expected, there was no variable of it actually being a mind game; I attacked the priest who had been dragged in by capture. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I suddenly noticed a Jeop-a tribe character running over on the minimap. For a moment, I thought backup had arrived and quickly swung the camera that way, only to see our adorable newbie, Jaesugang.
Curious what he intended to do after running over, I watched Jaesugang closely. Once he came right up beside me, he made a motion as though trying to smash me with the book he was holding. It was a skill called Corner Strike, which came with a stun effect. Since his damage didn’t work and his heals didn’t really help either, it seemed like a desperate attempt to help in whatever way he could.
Of course, the newbie’s brave charge was easily cut off when I blocked it with my shield. Jaesugang must not have expected me to be paying attention to him too; the moment his attack was blocked, he hurriedly crab-walked backward in case I counterattacked.
After that, he kept inching closer and showing signs of lunging at me, but every time he did, I inched along with him. In the end, Jaesugang seemed to give up on using close-range skills and started casting a DoT skill on me from where he stood.
With gear that bad, there must have been almost no effective skills he could use on me, yet he still wasn’t running away. Well… considering how he’d come looking for me after I killed him, whether for revenge or to say thanks, he definitely wasn’t ordinary.
Thinking that, I went back to mashing skills so I could focus on beating the max-level priest again, but at that moment, Jaesugang’s casting was cut off at once.
Before I even had time to grasp the situation, a skill reminiscent of self-defense flew in. My character’s skill was interrupted and briefly stiffened, then the follow-up skill effect stunned me. Finally, after conscientiously landing even a knockback on me, Jaesugang used a retreat skill to swiftly pull away.
I’d thought he had given up because I blocked him every time he tried to use a close-range skill, and that he was only trying to cast a DoT skill… While I was momentarily frozen by the unexpected casting mind game, three enormous fireballs flew in from behind, one after another.
While I had been pushed back by the knockback, the priest had escaped me and rapidly finished casting. Between class compatibility and the skill’s extremely high coefficient, my HP dropped to around 60% for the first time.
Of course,
[Combat] You have defeated Sarara with the skill Last Judgment.
[System] You have defeated Jeop-a Tribe Sergeant Sarara.
[System] You have acquired 440 Fame.
The max-level priest had already been at low enough HP to die in one or two hits, so the situation did not end up turning around.
After confirming that the priest was dead, I immediately turned the camera and checked the area. The warrior must have fled partway through, because he was nowhere to be seen. Only Jaesugang, who had audaciously pretended to cast before stabbing me in the back with a close-range skill, was caught by my capture skill while belatedly trying to run away and dragged back in.
Realizing there was no point resisting, he made no move, and I examined his character closely. Looking at the combination of equipment clearly visible because he wasn’t wearing any separate appearance gear, it seemed certain that this wasn’t an alt. If it really were an alt, he wouldn’t have dressed in such shoddy equipment, and at the very least he would have had one piece of appearance gear on.
Considering the mind game he showed earlier, separate from how cheeky he was, he was a friend with a bright future ahead of him… It was a relief I found him and showed him the way before he quit.
I sincerely hope he doesn’t quit in the future, quickly gets his gear together, and does field PvP with me. Preferably not as a medic, but by changing to another class. If he’s a Medic and a Harmonizer, he’ll be a healer, which would be quite annoying.
Since I stood still for quite a while without killing him, Jaesugang must have found it strange, because he tried to subtly move away. But when I tossed a few skills at him, he died powerlessly. He was only like this now because his gear was bad; there was plenty to look forward to later.
I stood in front of Jaesugang, who had run out of HP and become a lump of light, and pressed each character into chat with utmost sincerity.
[General] Kkulppang: You’re welcome^^
After that, an entire party came swarming in, killed me, and popped up a speech bubble saying, “What the hell are you?” Even so, I was able to smile broadly and press the respawn at base button with a light heart.

Title: Is the rumor that Kkulppang was being toxic to a newbie true?
Author: [Jeop-a] Ilhwasumokgeumtohi
I heard he’s not the type to drag random people over and be toxic for no reason, but today I heard Kkulppang was chatting this and that in front of a newbie at Base 26.
Is that bullshit or true?
(17 comments)
- It’s true. At the time, a newbie from our guild said they got wrecked by Kkulppang at 26, so we formed a party and went over, and he was saying something in general chat (*general chat) in front of a real newbie (*a genuine newbie) called Jaesugang.
└ Did anyone see what he said?
└ Nope, I’m curious too.
└ I’m the priest who was at Base 26 then, trying to run newbies through dungeons, and got beaten to death by Kkulppang… Kkulppang killed every kid at the base, stared the hell out of the Medic newbie, then when the newbie tried to run, killed him and said “You’re welcome^^” in general chat...
└ [Author] Do you know why he said “you’re welcome”?
- Huh, this is the first time I’ve heard of Kkulppang teabagging a newbie. Didn’t that newbie hit him first?
└ What could a newbie even do to a ranked player from the enemy race?
└ I vote that after continuing to play Holy Knight Guardian, he finally threw away even the last bit of decency he had left.
└ Holy Knight Guardian? If he’s a Guardian Holy Knight, isn’t he a tank? That’s way cushier than Destroyer Holy Knight.
└ It’s cushy in instanced dungeons (*instance dungeons) or party PvP, but Kkulppang is a solo PvPer.
└ Ah; he does solo PvP? As a Guardian Holy Knight?;;
- It’s already a Bia-dominant server (*dominant server), so Jeop-a newbies don’t come in. This is harsh.
└ [Author] Exactly;
- Is typing in general chat toxic? I’m a newbie, so I really don’t know....
└ Allow me to lick the newbie for a moment. Slurp.
└ [Author] Saying anything to the enemy race in general chat itself is teabagging (*bad-mannered behavior done to a dead opponent; toxicity).
└ [Author] Once you’re dead and able to see the chat, you can screenshot it and report it, so that part’s fine. We’re more worried because the other person is a newbie and might get cursed at, scared, or quit the game.

Title: Guys; that newbie Kkulppang supposedly teabagged? last time
Author: [Bia] Fairy Sa
They said his nickname was Jaesugang, right;
I just went to watch because streamer JSG-nim said he was playing Dusk, and Server 3 Jeop tribe Jaesugang, Medic, is max level;;;

- ? That Jaesugang is that Jaesugang?
└ [Author] Yeah;;
- That person is playing Dusk??
└ [Author] Yeah;;; He said he briefly tried it during open beta, then recently came back.
└ That’s awesome. Didn’t he mostly stream indie games or shooters?
- Who’s JSG?
└ It’s the nickname in the post. People who played Obl probably know him pretty well? He’s good at sniping.
└ He’s not that famous, but he’s not a nobody either. His voice is insanely good and he’s good at games, so he blew up fast not long after he started streaming.
└ Isn’t that famous?
└ If you say he’s famous, he’s famous. How should I put it? More like only people who know, know? He doesn’t have aggro-bait videos like other streams...
- Kkulppang is screwed. He picked on a newbie who looked easy and teabagged him, but it turned out that newbie was actually a faaamous streamer with a huge-ass fandom lol
└ Isn’t Kkulppang about to get buried by the Sugangsaengs (*Jaesugang fan name)?
└ It’s so damn stale to paint fans as vicious lol, buried? Come on;
└ Sorry, but after people found out Jaesugang was that Jaesugang, there really were a few callouts in Bia tribe chat. I’m not saying all the fans are like that, but it’s not like this kind of thing doesn’t actually happen...
- Why is Kkulppang coming up in a Jaesugang post?
└ (https://www.dusk-on.com/freeboard/18789539201#) Go read this once.
└ thx thx
