- 【Best Comment】 So the true Incarnation of the Night was actually that Fire God
└ 【Best Comment】 Or maybe Jaesugang melted him
- When the message popped up saying the Incarnation had descended, I got chills. What kind of appointment was it that he even used Incarnation?
└ Definitely a lover
└ What lover would a potbellied old dude who only plays games at home have?
- Honestly, I could see why he got mad enough to melt himself. He was already a Harmonizer Medic, so killing him fast was annoying, and on top of that he had crit/specialization and was healing that hard...
└ Lmao fr, if it were me I would’ve just taken my clothes off and lain down telling him to kill me

TIP - Before choosing a class, first check which stance suits you! If you want to become a dependable pillar your allies can trust and rely on, choose “Guardian.” If you want to overwhelm enemies with flashy attacks, “Slayer/Destroyer” is suitable. If you want to take control of the battlefield by rescuing allies in danger, choose “Harmonizer”!

Unless he had something else going on, Jaesugang consistently started his stream at 9 p.m., but there was one exception.
Thursday. On Thursdays, when Dusk had its regular maintenance, he never made any other appointments so he could immediately check the newly updated story or content, and instead started streaming at 11 a.m.
He would turn on the stream a little after eleven, and once people had more or less gathered, he would begin a simple lunch mukbang. After that, he would chat or play a short game, then log in to Dusk at twelve when maintenance ended. That was Jaesugang’s Thursday morning routine.
Even now, after eating lunch, Jaesugang had played a few rounds of an FPS game and was chatting with viewers while eating ice cream as the update patch was being applied.
His face wasn’t visible, but the cam showed someone in a clean white cotton T-shirt scooping up a big spoonful of ice cream with a hand as pale and slender as his shirt. After putting the chocolate ice cream, packed full of chocolate chips, into his mouth and falling silent for a moment, Jaesugang slowly opened his mouth.
― “......A mistake? Mm. The biggest mistake yesterday was using my evasion after getting hit by the taunt. I forgot that when you use the Incarnation skill, the taunt’s startup (*startup delay) gets that short....... I was just unlucky, and that person was lucky.”
I quietly watched his white hand wriggle as it fiddled with the spoon and nodded. I had been lucky. Even considering how short the startup was, I’d used my taunt first by the narrowest margin, and that was why Jaesugang had been caught.
― “Since I’m a medic, in large-scale PvP I’m bound to end up facing DPS, right? They all come to dive me. ......Right, so I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve confronted a tank while Incarnation was active.”
Jaesugang scooped up another large spoonful of ice cream and brought it to his mouth. I could faintly hear the crunch of chocolate chips being chewed. Maybe because of that sound, I thought of the hamster my older sister used to keep, and a laugh slipped out.
While munching on the ice cream, he moved the mouse, minimized the internet window he had briefly left open, and checked how far the game update had progressed. Seeing that it was at 84%, it seemed there wasn’t much left.
I looked not at the secondary monitor with the stream on it, but at the main monitor on the left. Update progress: 87%. I was winning.
― “I should be able to log in soon....... Ah. ‘Why didn’t you use Incarnation too when Kkulppang-nim turned his on?’ Because I’d lose anyway. I thought taking on that much risk just to delay my death was excessive.”
......What the hell. What happened to the person who had strained every nerve trying to hold out past ten o’clock? Was he saying I wasn’t worth taking that kind of risk for?
If I’d known Jaesugang’s contact information, I would have immediately sent him a text saying, “Was this all we meant to each other?” How impudent.
Jaesugang briefly stopped talking and ate another spoonful of ice cream. There must not have been much left, because his white hand tilted the ice cream tub and scraped it clean with the spoon. The ice cream that had filled a whole quart size disappeared into Jaesugang’s stomach in an instant.
He didn’t look like he had that big of a build, so where did all that ice cream go when he had already eaten a ton for lunch? In any case, when it came to sweet things, he was completely weak.
As if bewitched by the sight, I clicked the mouse and donated 20,000 won, meaning he should buy another quart. Not long after, Jaesugang confirmed the donation had come in and said familiarly,
― “Zero-nim, this is telling me to buy another ice cream, right? Thank you.”
As expected, Jaesugang knew me too well.
I didn’t type anything in chat because I couldn’t be bothered to answer, but Jaesugang didn’t seem to have expected an answer in particular either, and he finished off the ice cream while laughing softly to himself.
― “Anyway, to continue what I was saying, even if a medic uses Incarnation, there’s nothing they can do against a Divine Knight who has Incarnation on. At best, I could try to melt them faster by applying an HP-scaling DoT, but once they become an Incarnation, DoTs don’t really stick either. Since a Harmonizer Medic’s only utility, the DoT and self-defense skill (*the Harmonizer Medic’s close-range technique), become ineffective, there’s nothing I can do. Even if my defense goes up, Divine Knights have high penetration (*defense ignore), so it doesn’t mean much.”
At times like this, I really felt the difference between Jaesugang’s playstyle and mine. If it had been me, I wouldn’t have bothered thinking about it in such a complicated way. I would have turned on Incarnation with the mindset of, “Look at this bastard, you’re even using Incarnation just to kill me? You die and I die.”
― “When I think about how I died just before ten o’clock by a hair’s breadth, well. It wouldn’t have been bad to use Incarnation, but at the time I thought it was a loss, so there was nothing I could do. My calculation was wrong, so I have to accept it, bitter as it is.”
With those words, Jaesugang said he would go throw away the ice cream tub and left his seat. In the meantime, I checked the update, and the Start Game button was active. The timing was good.
Without waiting, I pressed Start Game and logged in to Dusk. Dusk’s logo appeared at the very center of the screen, then the screen turned black, and the familiar OST played as the login screen appeared. After I selected the server, I saw my character sitting motionless against a wall, eyes closed like a doll.
When I double-clicked the unmoving character, the character slowly opened its eyes and the loading screen came up. Beneath a killer background illustration was a tip. “A paper by flight scholar Mikker nya Markerna has been published stating that Sina race members whose antennae have been removed have poorer flight ability than other Sina, but scholars did not show much interest in the paper.”
I heard Jaesugang return to his computer and say something. At the same time, notifications rang several times announcing that mail had arrived. They were the ranking rewards I received now that this season had ended. Ever since I had appeared on stream, weirdos had sent me piles of mail and whispers, so I had blocked them all long ago. Because of that, aside from people registered as friends or admins, no one could send me mail.
I moved my character, whose nickname area looked empty now that the title application period had ended. When I approached the mailbox in front of the guild house and pressed the F key, it was full of mail sent from nicknames with GM attached.
As usual, I was about to press Claim All, but the mail at the very top had no attached item, and the sender wasn’t Lufla, the GM in charge of rewards, but GM Shediaz. Since it was a GM who had the name of my favorite chief god in the game and the patron deity of my main class, I wondered what was going on and clicked the mail. Then a slightly long message came into view.

Hello, Kkulppang-nim. This is GM Shediaz.
First of all, we would like to say thank you so, so much for always playing 《Dusk》 so diligently and enjoyably. (- -) (_ _) (- -) !
Are you aware that an offline event celebrating our 2nd anniversary is scheduled for July 16? Though it has not yet been announced, we would like to invite you, Kkulppang-nim, a Divine Knight ranker from the first half of this year and a well-known figure in 《Dusk》, to the demonstration of the Arena content that will be revealed for the first time at this event.
The Arena you will demonstrate is ranked content conducted as a 1:1 duel on a random map. We plan to invite rankers from each class and, as much as possible, match classes that can counter each other so that the demonstration will not have its victor decided by class balance.
If you are interested in the demonstration, please send us a reply stating your intention to participate along with your contact information. A phone number is fine, and an email address is fine as well. If you are not interested in the demonstration or cannot attend on the day of the event, we would appreciate it if you could send us your intention not to participate. :)]
