**Silver Dragon Chronicle Chapter 80**

“Hmm, turn back. The warriors are on edge at the thought of storming the Blood Cult, so you might get caught up in a needless quarrel.”

“Yes, I shall.”

The portly man nodded at his words and set off again.

Late that night, Jehwa—who had been resting quietly with his eyes closed—opened them.

Beside him, Seoryongseon and Jiugyeom, who had been sitting nearby, also opened their eyes.

“An enemy raid?”

“They’re not demons. But they are quite nasty ones.”

As Seoryongseon spoke with a fierce scowl, Jehwa said,

“Hm, jiangshi? The stench of rot is overwhelming.”

Watching Jehwa scowl in clear displeasure, Seoryongseon said,

“We should deal with them first, shouldn’t we?”

“Aaargh!”

“Jiangshi! The jiangshi are attacking!”

“They’re Blood Jiangshi!”

The camp was already a scene of carnage.

The combat strength of nearly fifty Blood Jiangshi and over eighty Iron Jiangshi was truly tremendous. They did not tire and began slaughtering countless people.

“Ah! Seriously! What the hell? I was sleeping here!”

Mataeak split a Blood Jiangshi charging at him in two, annoyed.

No matter how the Blood Jiangshi attacked, they could not defeat Mataeak.

Already, numerous experts had appeared and begun dealing with the Blood Jiangshi.

But while they were distracted by the Iron Jiangshi, they had never dreamed that others would seize the opening to assault the place.

Boom!

“A thunderbolt bomb?”

Mataeak turned his head with a stiff face at the sudden explosion.

But what stood there was not a thunderbolt bomb. It was a human.

“That is…….”

Mataeak’s face hardened completely. Standing there was a woman holding a strange mass of light.

“Hohohoho! All of you, die! Lowly humans!”

The woman let out a sharp laugh and began massacring numerous martial artists.

“Kuaaack!”

“Aaack!”

Face hardening at the sight, Mataeak charged at the woman.

“Stop!”

Slash!

“Huh! Not bad for a human!”

Dodging the greatsword swung by Mataeak, the woman—Myurten—exclaimed in admiration.

“I suppose it’s a similar sort to the one I saw in Shaanxi before.”

“It’s rather hurtful to be compared to something like that.”

Myurten smiled faintly at Mataeak’s words and created a mass of black light, firing it at him.

Boom!

“Kuk!”

Realizing the power contained within the spheres of light was no joke, Mataeak dodged them one by one and attempted to close in on Myurten.

“Impossible!”

Grrrrroaaaar!

Having nearly reached Myurten, Mataeak stiffened at the ominous aura emanating from her.

Crunch-crunch-crunch!

A massive black sphere began approaching Mataeak, grinding up the surrounding ground.

“Hup!”

Mataeak’s eyes widened, and he tried to launch his body when…….

Bwoong! Crash!

A greatsword appeared from nowhere, and the black sphere vanished on the spot.

“No!”

As the magic she created vanished in an instant, Myurten’s face contorted ferociously.

“You……. I’ll be your opponent.”

Looking at Myurten’s contorting face, Jiugyeom muttered blankly, hefting his greatsword.

Then, warriors of the Martial Arts Alliance who recognized him from all around shouted,

“It’s him! The one who stopped the demons back then!”

“The Great Sword God has appeared!”

Countless martial artists called Jiugyeom the “Great Sword God”—who knew when they had given him that nickname.

Jiugyeom’s momentum was overwhelming Myurten.

However, Myurten maintained a composed expression throughout and spoke to Jiugyeom.

“Hohohoho! I admit you are stronger than me! But if I use magic indiscriminately, what will become of the humans here?”

Probably a significant number would die.

Even if he was Jiugyeom of the world, if he had to block each attack while fighting back, it would be a grueling battle.

“Your comrades are probably fighting my comrades elsewhere! You’d best be prepared.”

“Hmm…….”

Jiugyeom let out a groan at Myurten’s words.

Clang!

“Eek!”

Sawollin gritted her teeth as she watched a Blood Jiangshi swing its claws crudely. The half-formed sword qi she wielded could only leave scratches on the Blood Jiangshi.

“N-no, was it too much after all?”

Sawollin let out an awkward laugh as she dodged the Blood Jiangshi’s attack. She had rushed in, infuriated at seeing the Blood Jiangshi indiscriminately cutting down warriors of the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult, but now she was in this sorry state.

“Uwaaah! Someone help me!”

Sawollin screamed furiously and swung her sword at the Blood Jiangshi charging at her again, and the moment she swung…….

Fwoosh!

Crimson flames blazed up on Sawollin’s sword.

“Eh?”

Sawollin’s eyes went round as she saw it.

Clang! Fwoosh!

Sawollin’s sword clashed with the Blood Jiangshi’s claws, and flames erupted from the blade. Along with that, the Blood Jiangshi’s hide melted slightly.

“Oh?”

Sawollin looked at her sword with wide eyes. The sword that Hong Yuhwa had given her before was now producing an incredible effect.

“Ahahaha! Come at me, all of you!”

Sawollin swung her sword cheerfully and charged at the Blood Jiangshi.

Meanwhile, Myurten attacked Jiugyeom by firing magic wildly. Jiugyeom silently blocked her attacks one by one, protecting the humans.

As time passed, Myurten’s attacks grew fiercer, and Jiugyeom gradually found it harder to block them.

“Take this!”

Myurten created black lightning and began shooting it in all directions.

“Jiyang (Earth Calamity).”

Rumble-rumble-rumble.

Seeing that, Jiugyeom embedded his sword in the ground and muttered. The surrounding earth trembled and surged up, blocking Myurten’s black lightning; not only that, it turned into rock spears that flew toward her.

“Hmph!”

Seeing that, Myurten caused a massive explosion.

Crash!

“Do you think you can do anything to me with such petty tricks!”

Bzzzt!

Myurten shrieked venomously and sent black lightning toward Jiugyeom, who was already rushing toward her.

Bzzzzzt! Crash!

“Ohohohoho!”

Just as Myurten put on a satisfied expression while watching Jiugyeom explode after being struck directly by the black lightning…….

Swish!

“Wh-what? I-it can’t be!”

Jiugyeom rushed at Myurten without stopping.

There was no way Jiugyeom, who had withstood Jehwa’s storm-like attack before, could not endure Myurten’s magic.

Soon, Jiugyeom’s massive greatsword bisected Myurten at the waist.

“Kyaaaaaack!”

Myurten let out a shriek at the tremendous pain in her waist.

“Ah, what. Is it over?”

“Goodness, they made this troublesome.”

Along with that, Jehwa and Seoryongseon appeared.

“H-how! My comrades!”

Seeing Jehwa and Seoryongseon suddenly appear, Myurten—her waist severed and only her upper body floundering—wore an expression of shock.

“Did you think you could do anything to us with such petty tricks? Your comrades fled long ago.”

“Argh! They got away again! This old man caught his, so why do I always miss mine!”

Seoryongseon spoke coldly, and Jehwa expressed his annoyance.

“Th-this can’t be!”

As Myurten trembled, Jiugyeom raised his sword.

“Die.”

“N-no!”

Slash! Thud!

Regardless of Myurten’s screams, Jiugyeom’s sword severed her head.

“The damage here is considerable.”

Seeing that the jiangshi that had rushed in were mostly taken care of, Seoryongseon let out a deep sigh.

There was damage caused by the demons’ indiscriminate magic, and now even jiangshi had rushed in.

“Just where did these things come from?”

As Jehwa puffed his cheeks and grumbled, Seoryongseon said,

“I saw many empty carriages over there. It seems they brought the jiangshi loaded on them.”

“Didn’t they search?”

“They were hidden skillfully beneath the carriage floors.”

Seoryongseon frowned with a displeased expression.

The enemies grew stronger the more blood flowed.

Having suffered such damage, fighting going forward might become even more difficult.

Whether they knew it or not, the humans were cheering, saying they had killed many Blood Jiangshi and Iron Jiangshi.

They did not know that their own casualties would soon spell their own deaths, so it could not be helped, but it was somehow irritating. At that, Seoryongseon let out a deep sigh.

“Myurten died?”

Hong Yuhwa opened her eyes wide and asked Heukwa, who had come to report, and he answered,

“Yes. They say she died by Sir Jiugyeom’s hand.”

“Heh? Really? Good. Now nine are left?”

Heukwa nodded as Hong Yuhwa spoke with a smile.

“Soon this tedious mission will be over too.”

Seeing Hong Yuhwa speaking with a look of relief, Heukwa cautiously opened his mouth.

“Um, Princess, though we are the ones who did most of the work…….”

“Hmm? Heukwa, what did you just say? Care to yap that again?”

“No, it’s nothing.”

Heukwa shook his head vigorously at Hong Yuhwa, who was smiling.

“Ah, say it. It doesn’t seem like nothing, does it? Hmm? If you’re honest, I’ll hit you less.”

Hong Yuhwa grinned at him, and Heukwa cautiously spoke.

“That we did most of the work…….”

“What? So I didn’t work and just played around while you Heukwa suffered terribly?”

“Ah, no, that’s not what I meant…….”

“To think you see me that way!”

Hong Yuhwa’s face contorted mercilessly.

*This is why I didn’t want to say it!*

Hong Yuhwa would terribly disparage any unpleasant remark and then beat the person until her anger subsided.

*This vicious princess…I need to get through this somehow. Aigoo, my miserable life!*

Heukwa lamented his plight inwardly.

“Heukwa, you were cursing me inwardly just now, weren’t you?”

Again, Hong Yuhwa had sharply picked up on it.

“No! Would I ever do such a crazy thing?”

“I feel like Heukwa would do such a crazy thing.”

“I would not.”

“Hmm, if you confess honestly, I’ll forgive the remark that made it sound like I was playing around while only Heukwa suffered.”

At Hong Yuhwa’s words, Heukwa muttered inwardly,

*That’s the truth. And so what if she forgives me? If I admit I cursed inwardly, she’ll use that as an excuse to beat me. I just have to deny it to the end. How would she know to interrogate me?*

“Hmm, Majaron is coming over there.”
