Silver Dragon Chronicles Episode 70

“Fine.”

At Jeha’s words, Seoryongseon nodded.

And as she listened to the two of them, Yeomjohwi came to realize quite a few things.

First, that Seoryongseon and Jeha had fought. Second, that Seoryongseon had gotten thrashed by Jeha. Third, that Seoryongseon was weaker than Jeha. Fourth, that she herself was going to get thrashed by Jeha.

Having realized the fourth fact, Yeomjohwi’s face turned deathly pale.

“You stupid bird. Looks like you haven’t had enough beating. You keep crawling back even after getting hit? Come here, let’s hit you some more.”

“H-hold on! I was just kidding!”

“Shut up. Get over here.”

“Oppa, don’t abandon me!”

Yeomjohwi cried out to Seoryongseon desperately, but he only looked the other way.

“N-no!”

At that, Yeomjohwi let out a sharp scream, but Jeha’s fist knew no mercy.

“Uwaack!”

Yeomjohwi was once again beaten by Jeha.

“Oh, you’re here.”

Hongyuhwa looked at Seoryongseon with a disgruntled expression. She still hadn’t gotten over her unpleasant feelings about having her life threatened by Seoryongseon.

Seeing Hongyuhwa like that, Seoryongseon let out a deep sigh.

“I already apologized for that. Get over it.”

“Hmph! You need to take more beatings from Jeha.”

“…….”

At Hongyuhwa’s words, brimming with malice, Seoryongseon’s face stiffened.

Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!

When they turned their heads at the sudden sounds, Jeha was striking his own palm with a fist. While smiling radiantly, of course.

Cold sweat trickled down Seoryongseon’s forehead.

“Oh! It’s Ryongseon oppa!”

Then Baekhoran appeared, beamed, and clung to Seoryongseon.

“But why did you call me?”

Seoryongseon asked with a puzzled look, and Hongyuhwa answered.

“Ah, we’re short on hands. Water Snake, you’re strong, so we need your strength.”

“Water Snake?”

At Hongyuhwa’s words, Seoryongseon’s eyebrow twitched.

“Are you calling me that right now?”

“Oh my! Can’t I?”

At Seoryongseon’s words, Hongyuhwa opened her eyes wide.

“How unpleasant.”

“Jeha, Seoryongseon says he’s feeling unpleasant. Hit him for me, will you?”

“Hm? Do I need to hit him?”

“…….”

Seeing Jeha respond immediately to Hongyuhwa’s words, Seoryongseon’s face hardened.

“Why do I have to get hit?”

“Hmm? Jeha oppa, do you want to hit Ryongseon oppa?”

When Seoryongseon protested as if aggrieved, Baekhoran tilted her head and asked Jeha.

“He’s telling me to hit him?”

“Mm, then hit him.”

At Jeha’s answer, Baekhoran, who had been tilting her head in thought, smiled radiantly and replied. At that, Seoryongseon realized there was no one on his side here.

“H-hold on!”

With a rare flustered expression, Seoryongseon shouted. At that, Jeha paused for a moment, and Hongyuhwa smirked and asked him.

“I can call you Water Snake, right?”

“…….”

“Hmm?”

“……Call me that.”

In the end, Seoryongseon ended up permitting Hongyuhwa to call him Water Snake.

Normally he would have fought back, but if he couldn’t beat Jeha even in the water, how could he fight him on land? He didn’t want to pick a fight he would lose either.

Just as Seoryongseon was inwardly lamenting his lot, Hongyuhwa stopped Jeha.

“Hey, Jeha, don’t hit him.”

“Hm? Okay.”

At Hongyuhwa’s words, Jeha nodded.

Jeha was someone who wouldn’t have even snorted at Hongyuhwa’s words on any other day, but there had been a time once before when she had nearly died at Seoryongseon’s hands. Thus, Jeha decided to listen to her when it came to matters related to Seoryongseon.

“Sigh… Fine, let’s put this aside and talk about business. You said you’re short on hands… What does that mean?”

“Ah, I’ll tell you.”

At Seoryongseon’s words, Hongyuhwa spoke with a sigh.

“Hey!”

Sawollin rushed into Hongyuhwa’s room with an urgent expression.

“Hmm? What is it?”

Seeing her urgent manner, Hongyuhwa asked with a slightly flustered look, and Sawollin shouted.

“The Blood Cult is on the move again!”

“Aha, so they’ve started moving.”

At that, Hongyuhwa smirked, rose from her seat, and spoke toward the empty air.

“Heukwa, head to the frontlines immediately and check for demons. Two of you toward the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult, the remaining three toward the Murim Alliance and the Saryeon Alliance. If the enemy numbers look large, report back.”

“Understood.”

Heukwa, who had answered politely to Hongyuhwa’s command, disappeared from the spot.

“That person, however you look at him, is amazing.”

“Of course! He’s supposed to be my bodyguard, and he’s stronger than me, you know?”

“Hee…….”

“Anyway, you.”

“Hmm?”

Sawollin, who had been admiring him, tilted her head at Hongyuhwa’s sudden call.

“You’re going out to fight too?”

“Yeah, I’m a member of the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult. It might not be a big deal to you, but by human standards I’m pretty strong, so I want to help the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult.”

Seeing Sawollin speak with a bright smile, Hongyuhwa let out a deep sigh.

“Honestly, if you’re weak you should just stay put.”

“I’m telling you, I’m not weak!”

Sawollin bristled instantly.

“Then why are you so worried about me?”

“I couldn’t care less whether you live or die. I’m doing this because Jeha would be depressed if you died.”

Sawollin, who had been wearing a blank expression as she looked at Hongyuhwa furrowing her brows, chuckled.

“You don’t die either. Aren’t you facing people stronger than me?”

“Hmph! Unlike you, I’m strong even by the standards here.”

“Tch!”

At Hongyuhwa’s words, Sawollin made a face. Hongyuhwa snickered at that and handed something to Sawollin.

“What are these swords for?”

When Sawollin tilted her head after receiving the two swords, Hongyuhwa smiled faintly.

“Hold onto them, think of them as good luck charms. Give one to Iseolhye.”

“They aren’t cursed with some weird hex, are they…….”

“Want to get hit?”

“N-no.”

Sawollin smiled awkwardly and shook her head seeing Hongyuhwa smiling radiantly.

“Why hasn’t that guy who’s supposed to be the Xuanwu successor come yet?”

Seoryongseon sighed and answered as Hongyuhwa asked with a fierce frown.

“That guy has always been slow.”

“Tch! Does he think he’s a turtle or something?”

At Seoryongseon’s words, Hongyuhwa shouted, and Baekhoran nodded.

“Ugyeom oppa really is a turtle.”

“…….”

“Xuanwu is a divine beast in the form of a turtle. You didn’t know?”

Yeomjohwi delivered the coup de grâce to the silent Hongyuhwa.

“It’s not just the Princess and the Silver Dragon Prince?”

Jarken asked back with a surprised look at Murten’s report.

“Yes. There was a strange person as well. He was definitely… stronger than me.”

Seeing Murten’s frustrated expression, Jarken fell into thought.

“Hmm… So that’s why one of your horns is missing, it seems.”

“Yes.”

Even as he answered, Murten ground his teeth.

‘That bastard… I can never forgive him! If I meet him again, I’ll gouge out his eyes and break every one of his fingers!’

Jarken spoke to the seething Murten.

“It seems this battle is going to become quite bothersome.”

According to Marekuran’s report, there had been a strange girl by their side. Precisely, a girl at the level of a Demon Count.

‘Surely there aren’t many such beings aside from that girl, right?’

That would cause considerable hindrance to their plans.

‘Diadelin, hindering me from start to finish.’

Jarken sneered coldly and muttered to himself. But Jarken likewise had no intention of backing down anymore.

Now, the Central Plains’ Murim was gradually approaching the most intense battle in history. The demons from another world had finally begun to move.

Chapter 20. Madness

“Hah! Those Blood Cult bastards must be out of their minds.”

A warrior from the Murim Alliance grumbled to his comrade as he patrolled, staying on guard against possible surprise attacks.

“I mean, who do they think they are to take on our Righteous Faction, the rest of the Demonic Faction, and the Demonic Path all at once? Have they decided they want to be destroyed?”

“I know, right? They failed with the Kunlun Sect and the Sichuan Tang Clan, and now it looks like they’re just charging out recklessly. Tsk tsk!”

As they clicked their tongues and headed back to camp, a woman appeared before them.

“If you have time to grumble like that, look more carefully at your surroundings.”

“L-Lady Seonu Ran!”

The one blocking their path was none other than Seonu Ran.

“What brings you at this late hour…”

“I’m on patrol too. Hmph! Who do those other people think they are, skipping patrol?”

Seonu Ran was the vice commander of the Murim Alliance’s White Tiger Squad. True to her title of Mubong, she possessed considerably powerful martial arts.

And with those martial arts, she had become the vice commander of the White Tiger Squad, the representative martial force of the Murim Alliance.

She couldn’t be left out of this war with the Blood Cult, so she had personally joined the campaign.

Of course, needless to say, the Sword King Seonu Gwang had come with her.

The warriors couldn’t help but admire Seonu Ran.

“Lady Seonu Ran, still, dragging me along is a bit much.”

Then Zhuge Huan, standing beside her, protested in a small voice.

“What was that!”

“Nothing, I said let’s patrol diligently.”

Seeing Seonu Ran’s eyes rolling, Zhuge Huan put on a nervous expression. Seonu Ran had dragged Zhuge Huan, the most easygoing among the White Tiger Squad, out on patrol.

“Honestly, why are those rising stars so arrogant? How strong could they possibly be? As if they’re so great just because they got stronger gorging on miracle pills.”

“But Lady Seonu Ran is the same.”

“But I’m out here doing this!”

When Zhuge Huan grumbled, Seonu Ran snapped, and at her outburst Zhuge Huan flinched.

“Every last one of them is pathetic.”

Muttering to herself, Seonu Ran walked on. Zhuge Huan followed after letting out a deep sigh.

“Good work.”

And he didn’t forget to wave to the warriors.

“Those two really are rising stars of prestigious Orthodox factions, but they’re so different.”

One warrior said with a grin, and another nodded in agreement.

“Right. Young Hero Zhuge Huan grumbles, but he still does his duty properly.”

“In a way, it seems like he’s looking after Lady Seonu Ran.”

The two warriors walked back toward the main camp, chatting away.

“The Blood Cult won’t attack.”

“How do you know that?”

When Zhuge Huan spoke while patrolling the area, Seonu Ran reacted sharply.
