Tale of the Silver Dragon Episode 67

Baek Horan nodded at Hong Yuhwa’s words.

“Handle things in a way that minimizes bloodshed. The more blood is spilled, the stronger they get. I’m asking you. We’ll stop the ten demons controlling the Blood Cult, so you humans should do what humans can do.”

“Must you…… talk as if you aren’t human?”

At Hong Yuhwa’s words, Sawollin narrowed her eyes.

“Didn’t I tell you? I said before, I’m a devil.”

Then Hong Yuhwa smiled faintly at Sawollin and asked, “When are they arriving?”

“They’ll be here soon.”

Baek Horan smiled brightly and answered Hong Yuhwa’s question.

“Then when are your subordinates coming?”

“They’ll probably be here soon too? I told Heukhwa, who just returned, to bring them as quickly as possible. I told him I’d kill him if he didn’t.”

“As expected, you’re bold, unni!”

“Hehe!”

Unexpectedly, these two…… got along like a house on fire.

Watching the two women giggling and talking, Sawollin let out a deep sigh.

“Those two get along well.”

I Seolhye was smiling too.

Only Jehwa was looking out the window with an expressionless face.

“Something wrong?”

When Sawollin asked with a puzzled expression, Jehwa shook his head.

“No, it’s nothing.”

Watching Jehwa mumbling blankly, Sawollin tilted her head.

“Hey.”

“When are you going to call me by my name!”

At Jehwa’s call, Sawollin frowned and spoke. Sawollin had never once been called by her name by him.

But without paying her any mind, Jehwa simply continued saying what he wanted to say.

“Dangerous things are coming.”

“I know that too.”

“Be careful.”

“Huh?”

Sawollin’s eyes went wide at Jehwa’s words. At that, Jehwa smiled brightly.

“It’d be a problem if you went around acting recklessly and died again, right?”

“Why do you always have to say such unlucky things!”

Sawollin shouted at Jehwa’s words and walked away huffing. Watching her figure, Jehwa tilted his head.

He couldn’t do anything. The only thing Jehwa could do…… was smile like a child. Aside from that……. he was a child who could do nothing.

“Marekran, what happened to you?”

A demon with dark crimson hair asked Marekran with a surprised expression.

“Can’t you tell? I got beaten.”

“What about Kaberyan?”

“He’s dead.”

The dark crimson-haired demon, Jareuken, frowned.

“Dead? Didn’t he go to kill the princess? And you followed just in case.”

“Right.”

“But why is he dead? Don’t tell me the princess had power that overwhelmed you both?”

Marekran let out another sigh at Jareuken’s words.

“The princess was certainly stronger than Kaberyan.”

“Hmm, so we miscalculated. But? Was the princess stronger than you?”

“No, she was weaker than me. But…….”

“But?”

“By her side……. there was Eunjehwa.”

Jareuken tilted his head at Marekran’s words.

“Eunjehwa? Hmm, I feel like I’ve heard that somewhere before…….”

“The Silver Dragon Prince.”

Jareuken flinched at Marekran’s words.

“The Silver Dragon Prince?”

Watching Jareuken ask with wide eyes, Marekran nodded.

“How? He should definitely be dead.”

“How should I know? But he was a dragon with the exact same face. Of course, his power was beyond imagination.”

“He……. defeated you?”

Marekran nodded once more at Jareuken’s words.

“Hmm……. Quite the troublesome being.”

Jareuken narrowed his brows and opened his mouth again.

“I always thought he was a truly interesting being.”

“You knew him?”

“Ahh, you don’t know what he did? He was a real genius.”

“What?”

Marekran made a surprised expression at Jareuken’s words.

“Dragons fundamentally cannot use magic. But he perfectly understood all the magic theories in the world. He did things an ordinary being couldn’t accomplish even if they spent their entire life. He also understood the flow of nature and the principles of illusion magic. He probably understood all the principles of the dragon-slaying techniques that dragons use at that age too? He was truly an astounding being in both scholarship and research.”

“But he was definitely the weakest being in the Dragon Realm…….”

“Right, his physical power was the weakest. But even if his power was weak, his mind was exceptionally brilliant. It pains me to admit, but he was smarter than me.”

Jareuken grinned.

“When he visited the Demon Realm, I was engrossed in researching the Demon God’s Jewel. He showed quite a lot of curiosity about the jewel. He even slightly helped me unlock the power hidden within the Demon God’s Jewel. I think it was before he became an adult dragon?”

Marekran hadn’t known that fact. Seeing Marekran making a rare surprised expression, Jareuken smiled.

“I wanted to research together with him. As you know, I’m a scientist. I welcome any being that can help with research……. But he didn’t seem very interested. It was quite a shame.”

Jareuken clicked his tongue lightly and then muttered.

“He was a truly warm being. He had strong convictions, and his knowledge was as vast as the sea. To think he died like that……. It was truly regrettable…….”

“He died at the hands of a mere human. And now he’s alive again, isn’t he?”

“Tsk tsk! You don’t know how the Silver Dragon Prince died. He died protecting the Sihyeola.”

“The Sihyeola?”

Marekran made a surprised expression.

The Sihyeola were biological weapons created in the former Dragon Realm, Demon Realm, and Heavenly Realm. They were a type of artificial lifeform created by using the characteristics of each race through science.

However, because their power could not match the original races and the Divine Realm ordered them to cease the research immediately if they did not wish to face divine retribution, the research was canceled.

Nevertheless, around one hundred Sihyeola were born during the process. To dispose of the research achievements, each realm set out to kill those Sihyeola.

Although they were weak, they possessed the characteristics of each race, so thirty Sihyeola succeeded in fleeing to the Middle Realm.

The humans also noticed the existence of the Sihyeola and moved to capture them. Though their power was insignificant in their original realms, they were beings with certainly covetable power in the Middle Realm.

Thus, there was a time when the Middle Realm was in an uproar due to the movement of pursuers sent from each realm and those in the Middle Realm trying to capture them.

“Don’t tell me he went to the Middle Realm……. because of the Sihyeola?”

“Yes. From his perspective, he pitied them. Those who were created without reason and died without reason…….”

“Hmm…….”

“But foolishly, the humans and the Heavenly Realm mistook him for a Sihyeola of the Dragon Realm and tried to kill him. By the time he had suffered considerable damage, the celestials realized he was the Silver Dragon Prince, Eunjehwa. But regrettably, it seemed a human mage who could use some magic cast a high-level spell on Eunjehwa before the celestials could act. Along with that, Eunjehwa died on the spot. You know what happened next without me saying it, right?”

“The Silver Dragon King’s…… wrath.”

Marekran broke out in a cold sweat.

The wrath of the Silver Dragon King had shocked the entire world. The power that single-handedly laid waste to the Middle Realm and the Heavenly Realm was still an object of fear throughout the world.

“But it’s fascinating, isn’t it? How can Eunjehwa be alive?”

“He definitely had a human body.”

“Hmm……. If I meet him later, I’ll have to ask what happened.”

Watching Jareuken smile brightly as if amused, Marekran let out a deep sigh.

Chapter 19. Destroy the Blood Cult!

“Why do you want to go to the Middle Realm with a weak body?”

A woman with silver hair and silver eyes let out a deep sigh and asked the silver-haired young man.

“I want to go down and see for myself. I’m curious what kind of world it is.”

“Just read books in the castle as always……. Or travel around the Dragon Realm. You said it was the first time since birth that you were moving about actively, and the place you want to go is the Middle Realm?”

“Haha! What danger could there be there?”

“But it’s quite noisy these days. Though there probably aren’t any crazy bastards who would attack you openly.”

Watching his mother making a face full of the expression, ‘Then I’ll kill that bastard!’, the silver-haired young man smiled faintly.

“Don’t worry.”

The silver-haired young man who had reassured his mother said, “I’ll be back.”

“You must go and come back carefully. It could be dangerous.”

Thus the two parent and child bid each other farewell.

***

“Mm…….”

Jehwa opened his eyes blankly.

“What? That dream was…….”

He had dreamt. A young man who looked exactly like him and a person who seemed to be that young man’s mother were talking affectionately.

The young man’s mother seemed to have a personality quite similar to Jehwa’s. In other words, she had a filthy mouth.

Conversely, the young man who looked exactly like him was the exact opposite of himself. Kind, gentle……. And mature.

“Strange dream.”

Muttering that, Jehwa kicked off his blankets and got up from bed.

“Well, so what!”

Jehwa started his morning cheerfully.

A welcome(?) guest appeared before Jehwa’s party, who were in the middle of breakfast.

“Krah! Baek Horan! You bitch, where are you!”

Sawollin and I Seolhye froze at the sight of the woman in red appearing suddenly.

“My! Who is that?”

Akserin, who was eating together, muttered with a completely unsurprised face, as though truly surprised.

“Huh? It’s Johwi unni!”

Baek Horan was the first to react.

Hong Yuhwa and Jehwa simply ignored her and focused on their meal.

“Hey, why did you call me all the way here! Do you know how busy I am!”

“You play every day.”

Baek Horan frowned, watching Yeom Johwi shout at the top of her lungs.

“I’m busy these days!”

Watching Yeom Johwi shout loudly, Jehwa opened his mouth.

“Shut your trap.”

“Yes.”

With those words, Yeom Johwi fell silent.

“Oh…….”

Clap, clap, clap!

Watching Jehwa silence Yeom Johwi in an instant, Hong Yuhwa and Baek Horan applauded.

Then, Sawollin pointed at Yeom Johwi and spoke.

“Why is this woman here? How was she able to get in here!”
