Chronicles of the Silver Dragon: Episode 28
Back then, Eunjehwa had clearly possessed a frail spirit and soul, and even his willpower had been weak.
But the Eunjehwa before her now was the exact opposite.
His will was upright and powerful, and his soul was mighty as well.
Just as the girl was looking at Jehwa, mulling this over…
“You okay?”
Sawollin approached Jehwa and examined his wound.
The girl felt a surge of displeasure at that sight.
“You there.”
“Hmm?”
“Get away from what’s mine.”
When the girl spoke as if giving an order, smiling brightly, Sawollin flared up.
“Since when is Jehwa yours! Stop talking nonsense and shut up!”
“I clearly warned you!”
“Warnings, my foot…….”
Stab!
“Huh?”
“I told you, I warned you!”
Thud!
*Cough!*
Blood flowed endlessly from Sawollin’s stomach. In that instant, something had pierced straight through her abdomen.
“Huh?”
Jehwa tilted his head as he looked at Sawollin, who trembled uncontrollably as blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
Come to think of it, she had said something like this not long ago. That people die when stabbed by a sword…….
Clearly, the Sawollin before him had suffered a tremendous wound, one incomparable to a mere sword stab.
Jehwa looked at Sawollin with a smile and asked.
“Are you…… dying?”
At those words, Sawollin’s face, already twisted in pain, contorted even more mercilessly.
This brat always had to twist the knife until the very end with everything he said.
But it was sad. The thought that she wouldn’t see Jehwa anymore…… It was sad.
T streamed down Sawollin’s face.
“Je- Jehwa…… *Cough!* Je- Jehwa……”
Sawollin called out to Jehwa, who had collapsed beside her, in a trembling voice.
“Huh?”
Jehwa let out an exclamation once more.
Then, time itself seemed to slow around Jehwa.
The dying Sawollin also appeared to move slowly, and at some point, someone was standing before him.
Jehwa knew very well who he was.
He had met him once before, and he was his ‘brother,’ the one who had given him everything.
“Do you want to save her?”
“Yeah.”
Eunjehwa asked Jehwa with a bitter smile, and Jehwa nodded at the question.
“Help me.”
At those words, Eunjehwa shook his head.
“No.”
“……?”
“There’s no need for me to help you……. Because this is your power. I am you, and you are me.”
At those words, Jehwa clenched his fist tightly.
His opponent wielded the burning karmic fire of the Demon Realm.
Then he would respond in kind with freezing ice that would freeze everything in the world!
“I clearly warned you……. Tsk tsk! Huh?”
The girl, Diadelin, who had been clicking her tongue as she looked at the dying Sawollin, suddenly opened her eyes wide.
And Jehwa smiled as he looked at Sawollin. At that sight, Diadelin felt her entire body break out in goosebumps.
Even to her, a demon, that sight was somehow horrifying.
Creeeak!
In an instant, Sawollin’s stomach, which had been pierced by flames, began to freeze, and the blood stopped.
“Wh- what!”
Her flames were those of her father, Delian de Diablo.
Having inherited his blood, she wielded his power, and among demons of her generation, she was the strongest because of it.
Wounds inflicted by her own flames did not heal easily and could not be frozen.
Yet it had frozen. What kind of bizarre event was this? There was no such thing as magic in this world, so how?
Swoosh—
Then, Jehwa, who had collapsed, rose from where he lay.
‘Could it be…… him?’
Diadelin’s face colored with bewilderment.
Then it turned to shock again. Jehwa’s horrific wounds began to heal in the blink of an eye.
Flash!
And Jehwa’s eyes had changed as well. They were not human eyes, but the pupils of a dragon.
“Kraaaaaaa!”
Jehwa let out a roar.
Feeling the immense power contained in that roar, Diadelin’s face gradually paled.
“Wh- what!”
This was absolutely not a power she could handle.
Her own strength was at best around that of a demon count.
In the history of the Demon Realm, there was no precedent of a demon who had just undergone the coming-of-age ceremony possessing the power of a demon count.
The Dragon Realm, Heavenly Realm, Spirit Realm, and Phantom Beast Realm were no different in that regard.
Among other races of her generation, there was not a single individual stronger than her.
Yet the Eunjehwa before her possessed power that surpassed her own.
That power was at the very minimum that of a demon marquis.
The Eunjehwa who had been the weakest among dragons of his generation possessed such power? And this was the power of one who was no longer a dragon, having lost his draconic body and become human?
“Th- this is impossible!”
Diadelin screamed with a pale face.
Jehwa stopped roaring and looked at Diadelin.
“Ugh……”
Diadelin flinched at Jehwa’s gaze and retreated backward. Seeing that, Jehwa smirked.
Crack!
“……!”
In an instant, her eyes widened at the ice spikes flying toward her, and Diadelin raised flames to block them.
“Kuh!”
Diadelin gritted her teeth and fell back.
But Jehwa absolutely would not tolerate Diadelin fleeing.
Each dragon tribe possessed its own distinct characteristics, and among them, the Silver Dragons could wield ice.
Boooooom!
An enormous ice storm swept through the surroundings, and the surrounding flames were blown away.
Standing at the center of it was none other than Jehwa.
“Ugh……”
Diadelin looked at Jehwa with a face still deathly pale.
She could neither understand nor wanted to understand this sudden situation.
Clearly, this fellow called Eunjehwa whom she knew did not possess such power.
“You…… Who are you?”
When Diadelin asked with trembling eyes, he answered.
“My name is Jehwa.”
“Don’t make me laugh! You’re that Silver Dragon Eunjehwa? As far as I know, you’re not that strong! On the contrary, the Silver Dragon Eunjehwa I know is a weakling below average!”
“Silver Dragon?”
Jehwa tilted his head at Diadelin’s shout and said with a frown.
“I’m not the Silver Dragon Eunjehwa.”
“What?”
“I don’t know anything about Silver Dragons. I’m Eunjehwa. Just call me Eunjehwa. Don’t spout nonsense and die.”
“……!”
Boom!
“Kurk!”
Diadelin, who had been dazed by Jehwa’s words, wore a shocked expression as Jehwa appeared before her in an instant and swung his fist, and she blocked it.
“Get lost!”
Fwoooooosh!
A chill began to frost over both of Jehwa’s hands.
When that chill reached its peak, Jehwa unleashed it.
KABOOOOOM!
That power created a storm of ice and swept over Diadelin once more.
Fwoooooosh! KABOOOOOM!
In an instant, the ice storm engulfing Diadelin was neutralized by the flames she had created.
“Don’t make me laugh! Did you think I’d lose that easily? I am Diadelin de Diablo, daughter of the Flame Demon King Delian de Diablo! I can never tolerate losing to anyone!”
A crimson sword was already in Diadelin’s hand as she shouted with all her might.
With a face full of resolve, Diadelin raised the sword gripped tightly in her hand and charged at Jehwa.
Craaaash!
Jehwa’s fist and Diadelin’s sword clashed.
Screech!
“Huh?”
And the one pushed back in that exchange was none other than Jehwa.
“Did you think a mere human who isn’t even a dragon could win in close combat against a demon? A demon’s physical ability is second only to dragons! An ordinary human like you can never defeat me!”
Jehwa’s magic power was far stronger than Diadelin’s, and his spiritual power also vastly exceeded hers.
And even her flames, one of her fortes, were being pushed back by Jehwa’s ice.
However, there was one aspect in which she currently surpassed Jehwa, and that was outstanding physical ability.
Demons were beings quite adept at close-quarters combat.
But even so, they could not match the Dragon Race—a species born for battle itself—in terms of physical prowess.
Demons and angels used magic, spirits used nature, and phantom beasts used illusion techniques.
The Dragon Race could not use magic, nor could they harness nature like spirits.
Of course, illusion techniques were the specialized domain of phantom beasts.
Unable to use the unique abilities particular to other races, dragons created techniques utilizing their specialty: close-quarters combat.
Those close-quarters techniques, created with overflowing spiritual power and the Dragon Fighting Spirit that destroyed everything, boasted might greater even than the demons’ black magic.
The battles of the Dragon Race were quite literally close-quarters combat; they were more adept at it than any other species.
But demons, for whom the law of the strong was absolute, had also tempered their bodies in their own way and evolved accordingly.
Though not to the extent of the Dragon Race, they too boasted powerful physical abilities.
Since a human would naturally lose in close combat against a demon, Jehwa was supplementing his lacking physical ability with overwhelming spiritual power.
“Get lost!”
Boom!
“Kuh!”
Jehwa roared fiercely and released his aura, and the force of it sent Diadelin flying.
Craaaaash!
Jehwa sent an ice storm toward her as she hung suspended in the air, and seeing that attack, Diadelin raised her own aura.
Boooooom!
The ice storm and a massive fireball collided.
Powerful fire qi and ice qi clashed like a struggle for dominance, generating steam.
“Haah!”
Diadelin instantly rushed before Eunjehwa and swung her sword.
Boom! Swish!
Jehwa struck aside the sword swung at him, but in that instant, he frowned at the pain he felt in his fist.
Perhaps Diadelin’s blade was sharper than he had thought, for blood began to flow from his hand.
Fwoooosh!
“……!”
And in that instant, Jehwa’s hand began to burn.
Seeing that, Jehwa used his aura to blow away the fire qi, and he grimaced.
“What?”
Just now, those flames had been generated from his own blood burning.
Jehwa’s cold gaze turned toward Diadelin.
“Hmph!”
Diadelin snorted lightly at that gaze and infused her magic power into her sword.
Fwoooosh!
Seeing Diadelin’s sword begin to burn in an instant, Jehwa frowned.
“Prepare yourself!”
Diadelin glanced at her own sword and growled as she lunged at Jehwa again.
This time, Jehwa also channeled considerable aura into his fist.
Boom!
Once more, Jehwa’s fist and Diadelin’s sword collided.
Craaaash!
“Kurk!”
This time, the one sent flying was Jehwa.
Jehwa looked at Diadelin, who had sent him flying into the air, with wide eyes.
He had clearly won in terms of power, so how was he the one being pushed back?
—Follow me.
Then, a voice was heard in Jehwa’s head again.
‘What?’
—Your opponent is the daughter of the Flame Demon King. She’s also the next Flame Demon King. You can never win with brute force. You’ll only exhaust your strength…….
‘Then how can I win?’
—That’s why I told you to follow me.
He spoke gently at Jehwa’s urgent voice.
—Dragon Killing Technique, Fist Style, Ultimate Technique: Silver Demon Wrath (龍殺技 拳式 窮極技 銀魔憤怒).
Along with those words, countless pieces of information began to flood into Jehwa’s head at high speed.
“Dragon Killing Technique…….”
Jolt!
Diadelin’s face, which had been about to launch her next attack at Jehwa suspended in the air, hardened stiffly.
‘Could it be?’
The Jehwa before her was trying to use the Dragon Killing Technique, a skill unique to the Dragon Race.
‘Impossible!’
A technique that absolutely could not be used by non-dragons……. Even if he had once been a dragon, how could he possibly use it now that he was human?
But this was no time to be shocked.
“Explosive Flame! Explosive Shatter! Explosive Frenzy! Explosive Burst!”
Diadelin began an incantation, raising her magic power.
“Fist Style Ultimate Technique: Silver Demon Wrath!”
“Heaven and Earth Raging Flames!”
KABOOOOOOOOOM!
The Silver Dragon King’s Dragon Killing Technique ultimate technique and the Flame Demon King’s black magic ultimate technique collided.
